I have roughly 300 cars in the garage now... Just think of a few favorites on top of my head...

Toyota AE86 S.S version

Nothing special really, 200hp FR compact Japanese car. Super easy to drive, great practice car to learn new tracks. For some reason the exhaust sounds really nice.

BMW M3 CSL, GTR Road/race car

Perfectly balanced in my opinion. One of the best car to drive on the Nurburgring.

Corvette ZR1 race mod

easy to drive high speed racer. Helped me win countless A and B spec events with ease. Very affordable too!

M-Benz SLS AMG

Did not know anything about this car until this game. After driving out the AMG academy challenge, I fell in love with the car. Another really well balanced all rounder and it's great fun on the Nurburgring.

Mazda 787B

One of the best race car I've driven in the game, very easy to handle even at high speed and rough conditions. No wonder this car won the 24 hours endurance in real life.

There's still so much... I can't think of anything else at the moment. Please share your favorites and tell us why!

I'm currently running a pretty lengthy test that put's certain cars through the same test to compare lap times/performance. Last night I drove the Lotus Evora and could not believe what an awesome car it was. It is by far, the best car I've tested in it's HP range (276 HP I think). That's my favorite car of the moment. It drives like a dream!
 
Honda NSX Type R '02. Very well balanced, decent power, incredible handling, can be driven hard and agressively while retaining a somewhat relaxed character. Once you know it a little, you won't feel like you're driving it around the track, it feels like the car is reading your mind.

Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. Feels a little like the NSX, but it's more powerful, lighter and has some serious downforce and feels incredibly stable at almost all times. A brilliant car that will dominate even the legendary McLaren F1 around the track. It also looks absolutely stunning, especially in Titanium Grey with Lime Green Metallic rims ;)

McLaren F1 '94. A handful to drive at times, but it does indeed deserve its legendary status if you're asking me.

Toyota FT-86 G-Sports Concept '10. Fast, light, RWD. Basically a new incarnation of the AE86 - which is a great thing in andd off itself :)

Cadillac Escalade...big rear seats, if you know what I'm sayin' ;)

Aston Martins...pure class. They say "yeah I'm wealthy, but I'm also not a Porsche-Ferrari fan boy"
 
Citroën Xsara Rally Car '99

I loved this car so much in GT3. It helped me win the FF Professional Event in that game and I love it as much then as I do now. A very fun car to drive, especially in the dirt or snow.

Quite an under acheiver.
For the horsepower and weight, it still produces lap times you wouldn't expect.

CLK Touring car (DTM)
Excellent balance.
Excellent lap times.
What more do you want?

R92CP Race Car
I don't know if it's my tune or the car but I put down the best times with this thing.
It's raw and primal.
It reminds you that it's a machine and will reward you for handling it properly.
 
HEP G37 - Mine has almost 600 hp and is nearly impossible to break loose. It handles like it has magnets on the bottom attracting the road. Love it. Fun to drive. Great for online races where people like to play bumper cars.

Lexus IS-F (tuned by RKM) - almost as stuck to the ground as the HEP G37. This is currently the car I'm lusting after IRL. I'm doing everything I can, and just need to get a little more money together before I can purchase one of my own.

Corvette ZR-1 RM - It's not the best driving car in the game, but it DOES get the job done. It's served me well and I have no reason to believe it will not keep on doing so.

Spoon CR-Z (tuned by RKM) - Another fun car. I think the CR-Z is a great step forward in hybrids. For the first time ever, I think a hybrid is cool. Unfortunately, Honda forgot to throw some balls into the mix. This car is great races capped at 200 hp (online), and Honda races. It's different from the typical ITR/CTRs you see. Bit of flavor.

In game:

Ferrari F430 Scuderia....I mean, look at it, it handles pretty well, also. After a chasis reinforcement, all 3 stages of weight reduction, it handled like a race car.

T.M.E Evo. The (old)Evo's are my favorite cars IRL and its the closest we'll get to vinyls in GT5. Plus, mine is purrrrrrty!

ZZII. That 🤬 is an animal!!

Ferrari F430 Spyder.....I mean, look at it.

Last Gen BMW 7 series. Classic executive looking sedan!

1996 Chevy Impala SS Been pimpin' since pimpin' been pimpin', pimpin! Chevy'w greatest 4 door creation. Throw some 4's on it and you have the cleanest car in a 50 mile radius.
