I work at Kroger as a cashier and sometime for 2-4 hours straight I'll stand in one spot but sometimes I move around just a little. Price limit is around 60-80 dollars depending on how cool and comfortable the shoes are.

Any help greatly appreciated :)

You could try getting some gel inserts. I wear Diadora Medaglia shoes. From what I know they are good but I don't have experience standing for 2-4 hours.

In all seriousness, you can get gel inserts which are universal fit.

Well I also need to buy new shoes so that's the thing...I want some good shoes that can also withstand the standing

The most comfortable trainers I have ever worn are Air max 95's. I had a plain black pair when I used to work in a warehouse. The only downside is there quite expensive.

I wear dress shoes where i work, but I walk 1.5 kilometers to/from the train station to get here each day. I find myself most comfortable in Rockport and Ecco shoes. Anything else just feels like crap. I've even given up on my Reebok's because of how comfy the rockports are 👍

I agree with Ecco shoes, I can be on my feet all day and I'm just fine with mine. They are good for walking too, I walked around London all day and never had an issue. Born shoes are also pretty good.

All-black sneakers usually never fail at work, and they don't draw attention. No visible logo or stripes means nobody looks at your feet twice and asks why you're not wearing dress shoes at a $7/hour job. And they match with any slacks that aren't paired with a suit.

From my supermarket days to my service manager days, I usually wore all-black sneakers. Don't buy the cheap ones, it's your tools for work (even if you feel like a tool at work). The last thing you want to think about at work is how terrible your feet feel.

And make sure they supply you with a rubber mat. Cashiering in place for hours aches more than the average person thinks; jail cells allow more stretch-out room, to put things in perspective.

Dunno if you're still in the market, but I've had excellent results from Clark's walkers. Well made, durable, comfortable, and as Pupik says above, suitable for almost any occasion.

I'd definitely get a pair of Superfeet. If you've got 60 bucks to spend, get a pair of 30 dollar sneakers and these bad boys.

I stood for about 11 hours today in a pair of 4-5 year old, completely worn out Doc Martens and I'm fine with superfeet inserts.

Just get a shoe that matches your foot type. I can stand around for a long time in my Asics Fortitudes.
