I am NOT a fan of online racing. I like to race whatever wherever whenever under my own conditions. I love to do 60-minute races with triple consumption and wear and other stuff. I hope I am not alone in this one...

What are your favorite places for racing against the AI and with what classes? I have not tried everything yet (I'm not a fan of a few circuits).

Try any N400 car of your choosing (I prefer a 512BB or 288 GTO), take off all the driving aids, take off the HUD, only use Sport Hards as a maximum tire compound, only use cockpit cam, put the transmission on manual.

Then go to Goodwood in a Custom Race, put the AI to 20 and professional, put on all the penalties and start last on the grid. Works pretty well for me.

Also same thing but with Group 3 on St. Croix B is one of my favourites.

Same settings for any Japanese track with a BoP’d 2008 Group 2 car for an endurance race works good too with the HUD on.

They tap the brakes coming to Fordwater (the 1st kink after the 1st corner), which is an always-fullthrottle corner for me. It's driving me insane!

I hang back on the throttle on that corner and pass around the outside. Once you do a few races I find it pretty easy to avoid.

Goodwood has some rather bad AI drivers. This is from a 30-minute Gr.4 race from earlier today.
My laps = 77-78 seconds
Their laps = 80-81 seconds

I'm no superstar and it's like I'm driving a different class of car.

Usually any wide course with broad sweeping turns is horrible for the AI to manage. For example Fuji, St. Croix, and Alsace on any layout.

On more narrow courses the AI simply moves from turn in, to apex, to exit... braking early at each instance. They're easy to pass as long as you time where you cross their natural racing line. In wide sweeping turns the threshold of the car will determine the AI's racing line which can vary dramatically across the width of the track depending on the vehicle. This usually results in unpredictable line changes, dive bombing, and brake checking from the AI.

St. Croix C-ll is good for credit farming. The AI corners so slow you can win with much slower car. Gr.4 against GR.3 is easy, I run N400 against Gr.4 frequently there.

A Gr. 3 Road Car set to Gr. 4 levels of HP is a good challenge against Gr. 4 because it has less downforce than them and weighs a bit more.

AI seems to be awful on the original tracks, I find them a little quicker around the DLC tracks like Fuji though. I will only race against AI for the daily prize car spin so I don't have a particular favorite car category and track combo.

AI is worst on autopolis imo. Punt city.
I was talking/asking more about the AI having good/bad laptimes or just weird behavior (braking for no reason like in Goodwood) but I guess this is important too.

Alfa TZ2 One Make at every road circuit. The AI program for this car is "Race full throttle!".
Just a quick caveat: Bathurst. It's such a pain to race AI from the Cutting to Skyline. At least the AI, in the TZ2, brake a bit later and there is more of a warning to overtake on the outside. Other than that, just hop in(you can even leave the stock TCS3 on) and have good battles with the AI.

In some points at the beginning of a race against IA, the IA is very fast, but after the first lap, their become to slow in the corners and straights, when you stay in the first place the second and third increase the speed and is really difficult to escape from them.
I prefer that blind but aggressive IA from the first GT´s.

The clean race bonus is mysterious to me. I was in GT league yesterday, and did the Amateur TT race at Barcelona. Those races are usually really easy to win, so lately, I've been choosing the slowest car available, and driving carefully, to get the car handicap and clean race bonuses. I did that, and P2 knocked me off the track at the end to steal the win. No clean race bonus and no gold trophy. I immediately did it again, and decided to just smash everybody that got in the way. I plowed my way to the front and got the easy win. But I got the clean race bonus, too. What the hell???
I'm thinking it must just be for track limits.

I wish the AI in GTS would be worth racing it.

The fake career mode called GT League was only implemented after release because the shout for an offline mode was even for PD, who are proudly the masters of ignoring the community, to loud to ignore it.
