Man I was all set on building a drift car back when I was in college, but income never really worked out to the point it was feasible. Between then and now I decided I should get an MX5 as it will be more versatile and practical as a daily..

Still planning to go through on the MX5, but I'm really getting that drift urge again :( What's the cheapest you can expect to set something up for these days? Then again I don't even know where I'd be able to run it around here :I

Sadly, I wish I can join in the fun but I can't. Though I understand that this is " What you Drift in IRL" thread. Though somewhere along someone will post a silly picture. But I will give you this, I have tried a couple of times drifting a stock 240sx on oem parts and didn't work quite I wanted it or I didn't ( or I don't)risk my engine.

i hear you, drifting is spendy, not on a global motorsport cost level but on a independent DIY at home level.

realistically, my advice if your on a small budget is buy another persons drift toy. Sure your not doing it yourself but later on you will break things and learn to work on/replace parts. Plus everything is installed, working, and cheaper then if you did do it on your own.

I wouldn't worry about an engine, I would be more concerned on tire, tow trucks, differentials and tires.

Sorry only have video's.

Me drifting my brother's Infinit M30 at a NOPI drift event. Specs: converted to 5speed from a Z31, megan track coilovers, longchamp xr-4, OPEN differential, stock VG30E. Haven't drifted for 1 year prior to this video because our track closed then someone finally held a drift event at the stadium. I think I didn't do too bad for being rusty.

My old 240sx, didn't install my KAAZ 2way yet in this vid, drifting with an open diff, B+G spring/KYG AGX struts, ST sway bars, cusco STb front back, stock SOHC KA24. Months later I swapped in a '98 KA24DE from a s14 and added headers and a apexi dual-n1. I could keep up and even drift better than guys with SR's

my friend showing what you can do with a 240sx.(I know this thread is about your car but thought it would be cool to share.)

I don't have the income nor space to fit another car. So, slowly building on my daily driver for seasonal track meets is better than anything at all. ( probably once a year or so)
