Hi all, I'll be starting the first 24 hour A-Spec race tomorrow and I'm wondering what car I should use.. I'm looking for a car that is comfortable to drive and can easily destroy the competition.

Go ahead and share what you used. :)

If you want to do it the easy way: X2010 or X2011. Otherwise I'll say the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP, or the 905 Race car from '92.

R35 GT-R Touring Car. Very stable and fast in the rain.

It shouldn't be able to keep up with LMPs but it beats them.

You will be bored to tears if you use an X car.

Yeah, I'm definitely not using an X. After all the frustrating hours spend on golding the Vettel challenge... Never again.

Sauber was fun for LeMans, didn't stand a chance on the 'Ring though. For the latter I used the '01 R8 and won handily despite having no upgrade parts and using no better than RH.

R35 GT-R Touring car at the 'Ring. Won with no problem.
Bentley Speed 8 at Sarth. Also won with no problem.

I've a confession. Just, well not just. I've started 24hr @ Nur. I made the mistake of using the X1. My question is, DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW THE LAP TOTAL FOR THE AI DRIVER ON Nur?

About 180 when I did it.

I've anything from 150 to 200 on AI cars though...

But you should really restart and do it in a other car then the X1... Any car!
Unless you're like 18 hours in though.

What Car should i use for the 24h LM? I would prefer premium Cars.

Here's what I would do. Use the redbull X1 or X2011 and do about 20 laps then park it on the side and take a break for an hour. Don't pause it though, make sure time is still running on the clock. Then just repeat doing this just as long as you have enough of a lead. Who really wants to do a 24h race without being cheap.

Even though I have no intention of doing the 24hr endurance races, I would still want to race the AI all the way through, not drive and wait, drive and wait.

If it were me I'd use a 908..but like the bloke above me,I have no intention of doing an A-spec 24 hour race.

I've just recently started my second LeMans race.

I'm using the Nissan R92CP.

Its been raining the entire race so far, so I've been running on intermediate tires. After 5 hours, I'm ahead by two laps, so I'm just toying with the AI at this point.

The Nissan R92CP is very strong, so the race is certainly too easy. Its pretty easy to light-up the R92CP's tires coming out of the tight corners, but otherwise its a great car for LeMans if you want an easy race. No need for any upgrades.

Good luck,
GTsail

I'm using the Mazda 787B right now at La Sarthe. 4 hours in, ahead 1 lap, no modifications. Driving comfortably.

For 24 hours at Nurb, what's your opinion on using the 1988 Jaguar XJR-9 LM Racecar (from DLC Pack 3)? If it isn't a good car I may just use the 787B again or use a 908. I prefer using premium cars.

787B or 908 in my opinion...

I don't know... I just don't like the Jaaaag very much... :sly:

But you don't have to use LMP/Group C cars though.

A GT-R R35 TC, or a RM Corvette ZR1 would do the trick aswell, even the N24 GT-R that Kaz used is very good for this race... ;)

Its called enjoying the game and the sense of accomplishment for me. I don't like being cheap. Even tho it can be long and boring, I would rather do it the way I did it and not be cheap about it. It may sound odd, but running those two 24 hour races was truely some of the best experiences I've had playing the game and might even do it again someday.

I used the Audi R10 with the stage 2 turbo to be competitive, along with some suspension tweaking to help the handling, to do the 24 hours of Le Mans. It was a fairly close race with periods of rain and it handled it well with a win in the end.

I'd say a car that is close to their speed but faster just incase you make a mistake. (My 2 cents) I used the 908 and won.

I know it's cheap but 24h is a lot of time and time is money my friend. Not everybody has the time to do a 24h race.

for le mans i used a mildly tuned 787b and won by 9 laps. i test the nur 24 with a stock r10 but i wouldve blew away the competition with it. i plan on using the citroen gt

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP This is what i'm using for the ring 24hr. Standard no tuning apart from an oil change, rh tyres and keep about half a tank of fuel.

Puegeot 908 for Le-mans and Ford GT LM spec II Test car for the green hell. Loved both races but not sure I'd ever do them again
