Since we dont have any of the 3 cars used by TG on the star in a reasonably priced car feature what is a good PREMIUM car to use to replicate it as close as we can (thinking of a car that has similar power-weight ratio and would therefore give laptimes similar to the top gear cars (round about 1:44 for a stig quick time and 2:02 for an idiot driver)

Reason I ask is I will be having a games night tomorrow and want to set up a leaderboard of friends who can lap the TGTT the quickest (and want it done in a reasonable car...if there isnt a suitable choice then ill listen to "standard" car choices..after all, how many sub 200BHP FWD cars are there that are premium???

Idk about sub 200hp but I'd say the Focus ST and Integra Type R (DC5) are good choices.:)Both premium too.👍

Hardly a reasonably prices cars are they? They're sports cars, lmao. Its supposed to be something mostly entirely crap.

I used the Premium Vitz yesterday. My wife, a friend and me. It was a lot of fun.
Still too bad the Liana isn't there.

I remember Jeremy saying one of the cars had 110hp.. Probably something with that power and 4 doors would be close.

Still baffles me tho that they didn't at least include the Suzuki and Chevy. But I can understand not having the Kia since it's a recent addition to the show.

the suzuki swift!!!!! the 07 is a premium. it has 123 hp 👍

That was even mentioned in the show as being in consideration for the next reasonably priced car (which eventually went too the kia C'eed)

The Kia Cee'd on Top Gear is a 1.6L Manual version with 123@6300. Something equivalent would have similar stats. The Swift is a good car to pick but there may be others

The swift seems right - but is way too quick. (Possibly much better handling).
I set a 1.39 last night with the swift without even trying to hard.
I would imagine the Cappuccino may be more suitable - better handling, but less power??

It's not going to be very accurate though as in real life they really don't want to crash and total the car. In the game we can drive right on the edge and if we crash we just restart and try again.

Do we actually have the possibility of a standing start on the top gear track?

You can do a standing start, by edging the car to the line (just above the clocks on bumper cam).
Understood re- danger etc, but -5 sec on the Stig? It will need to be something much slower. I can imagine a gamer being able to knock maybe 1 sec off of a direct comparison.

hes only looking for a slow car so he can compare times between him and his mates, it doesnt sound like hes trying to compare with the actual reasonably priced car times that TG get

for that reason i think the swift is perfect

If I went on top gear I would have no problem with totalling the car.

So do we go round the track for 1 lap and stop at the line before the 2nd lap starts?

Or is it possible to stop at the line for the 1st lap?

When it starts, roll around the last 2 corners, and stop before the start/finish line. Change to bumper cam and line up the clocks just below the line. Job done.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing and my question is are you forcnig everyone to run with aids off and MT? I think that would be closet to the real real deal.
