What did we download in 1.02?

Has anyone been able to rip open the 1.02 download to see what was actually in it?

Because if you think about it, the only thing that was actually confirmed as added to the game was the X2014 Junior (remember, the BMW M4 and Hudson were already on the disc). And there is no way in hell that one single car is 1.2GB of data. And I suppose the Red Bull Kart as well, but I think that's just a regular kart with some different programming behind it and some new paint schemes.

The menu layouts, such as the addition of the X2014 events, can't be more than a few megabytes. Changes to the executable itself for bug fixes and such would likewise be tiny.

Even if they included the other two X2014 cars and events (which I personally believe they did, all we're waiting on now is the "update" from the server that tells the game to unlock them), that still wouldn't account for the sheer size of that download. Those three cars combined can't be more than maybe 50MB or so, and are probably far smaller. Even if they tossed in a couple of the upcoming Vision GT cars, it's still nowhere close to being 1.2GB.

So just what the hell did we download?

It is possible 1.02 include a whole fixed version of 1.01 to prevent people from money glitching anymore. Just my theory. ;)

yes........

If you delete 1.02 and are asked to update next time you start, does it install 1.01 then 1.02 or does it go straight to 1.02?

I don't know what the content that was in the patch actually was, but it did add 2 events, some menu items, 2 cars, login bonuses, increased credits on existing events, patch for the money glitches, downgraded some sounds, appears to have had an effect on racing brakes and likely some other things I haven't picked up on

Straight to 1.02.

The update checker will (if it works the conventional way) check your source version, check the latest version, then load the updater that turns your installed executable+resources from Version.source to Version.latest.

That means that there are no intermediary steps.

5Mb on updates (with fake cars etc) and 1 Gb of nothing but more bugs
More like 5 Megabytes of actual 1.02 stuff plus the entire 1.01. I was expecting to download two portions of 1+ gigabytes after reading that 1.02 is as big (or bigger) than the first patch, but then it was only one download straight to 1.02, as TenEightyOne said.

There are actually directions on how to do this on the gt6 home page (in the game). It's under: 'Notifications' > 'Updates' you'll see what's included in the current update.

They only include what the "feel" we should know about. There are tons of hidden fixes and extras that they don't feel we're worthy of knowing.
