What did you want and what did you end up with?

You can't always get what you want powripper.

I wanted a bad ass moddified Volvo 740 turbo... Ended up with a BMW E39 M5 and a modded Corrado G60 :)

THAT'S NOT FAIR!! :)

I guess I can't really say anything in this thread because I wanted a car and I ended up with nothing.

What, you mean you're never going to get one? That doesn't sound like the words of someone who wanted a car and visits a website about a racing game. :sly:

Keep savin' up and keep looking. I take it from your signature and envy of powripper that you're a BMW fan? You should be looking for an E21 or E30. They're great fun, and quite inexpensive these days. :)

Well, I'm only 17 and going into my senior year of high school, so I'll have plenty of time still in life. It's just that my parents have only one car and they use it about 90 percent of the time, while I pretty much use it the other 10 percent. I've entertained the thought of buying myself a car right when I turned 16 as I've saved up some money, but I was FORBIDDENED by my dad to get a car. Plus by now, I'll have one more year here, then I want to go far away for college, which pretty much means that I probably won't really need a car for another few years.

After that though, I am definitely getting myself a car, and yes preferably a BMW. 👍

Got: Mazda MX3. Torquey little V6, fun to drive, Everyone in the world doesn't have one, but Famine does.
Torquey? The MX3's 1.8 V6 is not torquey!

I like the MX3. It's a quick wee car and I've been terrified in one more than once, but it could never be described as torquey. It has to be taken to the limit in every gear, or at least it was when I was in it... :scared:

I see. By then, you could probably change my recommendation of "an E21 or E30" to "an E30 or E36." ;)

Ha ha! Daan is a Fatty McFatkins! ;)

Wanted: 1963 Corvette Stingray split-window coupe.

Takumi Fujiwara
I guess I keep my wants in line with my abilities...

Wise thinking.

My mom wanted a BMW 3-Series Compact, I convinced her to buy a Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

My dad wanted a Rover 75, I convinced him to pay the extra for an MG ZT-T

What I wanted: A car that works well, is comfortable, and is nice to drive.
What I ended up with: A 1993 Saturn SL.

I didn't get my wish

Supra over rated ;)

Well, my first car was a Tercel, and I really just wanted cheap, good MPG transport.

After having it a bit, I wanted an SW20 MR2, but ended up with an AW11, which is faster on track than most SW20's now. Actually glad I ended up with the AW11, more pure in the sports area.

Daily is a 99 Corolla, not quite what I wanted - an IS300, but that was not possible or practical around here.

What i want:Cheap, Reliable, Comfy i.e. Ford Focus

Have: Naught, only 12! :dopey:

Hoi! It was more to do with the fact that the boot and rear seats were taken up by 4 LCD tellys, 4 PS2s, 2 DFPs, projector, DVD recorder, big speakers, and a million assorted network cables.

I really should have taken a picture of that - and the next night when it had 6 school chairs in it as well...

It's an art form... :D

Daan you are quite the contortionist, how you managed to fit was beyond me and certainly worth a few chuckles.

Good times!

Spec....

At least the offset stripe is on the correct side. Half the time when you see one, it's on the passenger side, not the driver's.

Ya I have seen a few that are on the wrong side too. I personally think one stripe is way better looking than two. I see a ton of cars that have two strikes but rarely any with just the one.

One IS a lot better looking. But guys, I have a question. Why is the drivers side the 'right' side? Is the purpose of the stripe to reduce reflection/glare on the windshield?
