What do these acronyms mean?

Sorry, kind of n00bish, but it's hard for me to learn these things with no Speed channel or CBS/NBC Sports-
  1. JGTC
  2. DTM
  3. LMP
  4. GT (not the game...)
  5. GTS
  6. GTR
  7. BTCC
  8. CART
The ones I know are ALMS (American LeMans Series) and NASCAR (Non-Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks - I might get some poo flung at me for that remark). I can't think of any more acronyms now, does anyone know some that are used here often?

JGTC = All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship
DTM = Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (German Touring Car Championship)
LMP = Le Mans Prototype
GT = Grand Touring (or, in Italian, Gran Turismo :D)
GTS = Grand Touring Super
GTR = Grand Touring Racing
BTCC = British Touring Car Championship
CART = Championship Auto Racing Teams (also commonly reffered to as "champ car")
