What do you do on a sick day?

I watch Top Gear until I get bored of Top Gear (usually 1 and a half days)

Yeah, I have a daily dosage of Top Gear aswell. Usually watch a challenge or something and skip the boring parts. :)

When I'm sick, I'm basically just on the PC and PS3 or whatever I feel like doing.

i dont get sick very often at all, in fact i think ive had only 2 - 3 sick days in 2.5yrs working 6 days a week. However if im sick enough to stay home im too sick to do anything but sleep and watch tv.

It's a fact of life that when you have children, there is no such thing as convalescence, or having sick days. You're on duty all of the time. So I just get on with life. I'm usually only carrying something they've brought home from nursery anyway.

I recently had 6 weeks off with a broken arm. I don't think I had a single lie-in (beyond 8am) during the whole period.

Agreed. Compound in that I work weekdays and my wife works weekends, and the fact that I'm usually sick starting sometime Friday afternoon (d'oh!), and I don't have a choice but to keep going.

I've been sick the last two days with some kind of food poisoning (I think). So I've been puking a lot, diarrhea, the whole deal. Basically I just sit in front of the TV watching INHD, watched Tommy Boy, Talladega Nights, and played PSP.

What do you guys do?
When I am sick I play games just like I do when I am not sick. :sly:

Sounds familiar; I'm sort of getting over a cold/flu, but it's been a three week process, whereas I'm usually over a cold in 3-5 days. I slept until 8am one Sunday morning, which was as much waiting as my somewhat impatient daughter could do. I'd catch a nap when she finally went down for a nap, which meant nothing much gets done.

I usually cook a lot when I'm sick. I'm suddenly a culinary genius when I get the Flu, irony is, whenever i get the flu, i get total paralysis in my legs. Getting to the microwave and fridge are not fun.
Culinary geniuses do not use microwaves.

Does anyone eat this food you're making while you're coughing and sneezing? :yuck:

You still manage to get about when you have "total" paralysis of your legs?

Are you ever going to make any of your posts believeable?

I haven't called in sick for work in recent years. Only once I should have and ended showing up late. It's a combination of rarely getting sick, sticking it out and the necessity of working regardless of how I feel.

I've had one day off from college this year, actually can't remember why. Don't tend to get ill any more, yay for losing 6 1/2 stone!

My stomach was hurting again on my way home so I bought a small Dr. Pepper and felt better 20 minutes later. :) Soda is god sometimes.

I'm sick today......but what do you, when you have vomitting? I have drank about 1 1/2 liters of Gatorade and I still expect to puke it all out at midnight :crazy:.....Tho, it does calm down the pain a bit.

Can't be too bad off if the Gatorade is going to stay down for the next 10 or so hours. Talk to me when you can't keep water down for more than 5 minutes. ;)

I rarely get sick enough to call in, in fact the last time I called in sick to work was when I was 15 and just wanted to go to MoA with my mom, aunt and cousin.

I'm 20 now so it's been 5 years.

Please tell me you went there to scope out chicks.

Either that or to go to Camp Snoopy. :D
Of course I did.:sly:

Also it isn't Camp Snoopy anymore its Nickelodeon Universe which basically ruined it and made it into a kid zone.:(

Was it Nickelodeon crap 5 years ago? I can't remember when they switched from Snoopy. I was just there in December with my kids (3 and 5 years old) and wife and we all had a blast. Well, the kids had a blast. I did as best I could to keep up.

They switched it to Nickelodeon at the beginning of 08, it was Camp Snoopy until 06. In the middle it was called "The Park at Mall of America".

A sick day will give me a day off school at the least and it will allow me to do some tasks that I normally don't have the time to do. Plus I can watch TV, play games, or just surf the web.

Watch Bullitt on Blu-ray.

I've never taken a sick day if not sick. If I'm actually sick I usually lay around feeling miserable trying to sleep and get better.

If I need a day off I either ask for a day off("civilian" job), or take military leave(Air Force).
