If you have Windows XP, you're out of luck, until TI comes up with drivers for it. As of now, you can put stuff on with the connecting cables(any of them, I've tried both the USB and the PC/Mac cable) with any computer other than an XP(but I'm not sure about all of the mac OS's)

I found this out because I had to resort to using 3rd party software to update my TI83+ OS, but the calculator crashed. So then I found out that the only program which can send OS's can use both the Grey and the Black cable, BUT NOT THE USB!!! So later, about a week later or so, I got lucky and borrowed my next-door-neighbor's grey cable on first my XP machine(which didn't work), then on my Win98 machine, and it worked like a charm. So, just hold your horses, and TI should come out with XP drivers some time in I think either November or December, I forgot which they said.

They are pretty expensive.. another thing I would do is press SIN COS and TAN as many times as I could and then hit clear and see how long it would take to clear it all. I got past 2 and a half minutes I think.

Yes, they are expensive, $90 for the + model. $120 for the "special edition" silver model. I think Texas Instruments likes jackin up the prices because they know everyone is going to buy their calculators and they are required for higher level math in school. My math book has sections that tell you how to program your TI!

I think you can get just the TI83+ for somewhere around $85, but yeah, the 86 and the 83+SE are expensive, but they're also better, so it matters what you want to do with them and how much storage you're willing to pay for.
