Hi folks, can i just say that manufacturers do help with most health problems people have ( e.g. some people have nut allergys etc ).Sometimes they don't help though. To be honest most food should be reduced suger & salt and drinks shouldn't have added suger to combat diabetes and lower the bodies blood pressure, colesterol etc.The problem is sweetners ( aspartame, saccarin ) can cause certain cancers and can and will cause diabetes plus gout if you have too much.Ok in moderation but best to be avoided tbh.Manufacturers should make the food right or not at all.Basically leave the sweetners out.Because all it is, is a cheaper way of making some cheap food in the first place. Also the sweetners come from China or else where anyway.

I went to a dietician and also had to learn alot about food and drink too along the way.Ways to avoid getting gout you see aswell. So would you like the manufacturers to do just that as i've said or not.

1) Just because they make it doesn't mean you have to consume it.

2) Too much of anything isn't good. Go overdose on something as necessary as water and see how you feel.

Everything in moderation, eat healthy(ish) 75% of the time, move a bit. It's really as simple as that.

I like cheap, and I've got no problems with supporting Chinese commercialism. If you don't want it don't eat it. If enough people agree it will be marketed for you.

No sweeteners currently used are any more carcinogenic than the sugars in non-diet drinks. In fact, saccharin has been proven not to cause cancer in humans, when it was revealed that the metabolic mechanism by which it causes cancer in rats doesn't exist in humans.

Companies have a responsibility... to their shareholders... to produce items that sell. Which is why most non-diet drinks are laced with sugar. Even fruit juices typically have sugar added.

If we're talking about diet drinks, they're typically safe, except for the aftertaste. The only issue with diet drinks is that some studies suggest that some artificial sweeteners can cause cravings, causing you to eat more. Well, sugary drinks do the same thing, while providing a jolt of sugar.

And no... Artificial sweeteners don't come from China.

I suggest, if you're really passionate about healthy food, that you read up on some of the real science out there, rather than taking at face value the various hoaxes and scaremongering articles put out by idiots like the Food Babe and the holistic medicine sites.
