Just want to know your inputs. There's quite a lot of songs in there. I for one don't really think it's too great. IMO there are only a few really good race and menu songs. The race results song with that nice baseline is always stuck in me head :dunce: anyone know which song is it? Too lazy to find it in the game's list right now cuz I'm not home. haha

i think its really good! theres something like 200 songs, and i like how you can independently select wether you want the song to play in race/slideshow/menu... i think i narrowed down the music to about 30-ish really good songs, and i was really happy to see music from Queens of the Stone Age (one of my favorite bands), Eagles of Death Metal, and Them Crooked Vultures... there are many good other songs too, i think this is probably the best soundtrack GT has had so far...

All the music in this and previous GT games were fantastic! Except the tuning and occasiondealer music, Ít is all Jazzy and lounge music (which is in my opinion very relaxing... :D) And when you're racing, those Techno, rock and other stuff makes me drive like the wind!

a BIG YES for me! :P

sorry, dont got a clue. But, you CAN put your own music in the GT5 playlist if i'm correct. I saw it at 1 of the trophies: Use the Personal BGM function, and go for a drive while listening to your favorite songs
Outside the game, place any audio file (mp3 works best) onto your PS3 and add it to a playlist. Then, in the game, go to options, Audio Options, Select User BGM (you'll be asked to pick a playlist at this point) then Enable User BGM. The trophy will spring here - you don't need to "go for a drive".

I've been the same with every GT game since GT1, I hear the music for the first hour or so, get sick of it and then switch it off. However, I've always liked the menu music and so that is what I voted.

Most of the race songs are good, and most of the menu songs are just awful. The song for the tuning shop is kind of embarassing, sounds like it was pulled from a 70s porno.

Agreed the lounge music is very chilled out and I like it a lot.....Best track is Two Door Cinema Clubs track, Bought their album a few weeks before the game came out and its great. Brilliant to hear them in the game,

I think it's alright, not quite as epic as other Gt's but it's decent enough.
Theres only one track I've had to disable, and it is horrible, sounds like the Cd is skipping again and again.... eugh.
Best bit of music is when you receive a car, love that :P

Menu music are great, bit the race music... it's awful, imo.
Let's say if there weren't an option to use any music from PS3's hdd, i would've been very sad. I can't stand any electronic, classical and most of the so called "alternative" music and the rock bgms in GT5 are not that great either and there's just like 15 of them.
So after i've decided to spend some time and sort it out (and turn off ones that i didn't liked) i had only 2 BGMs in races. Soul On Display and Sails of Charon (by Scorpions). -.-"
Kinda sad, in GT4 i had at least 20 left. But thanks to PD now we have option ti use any music we want, so that's ok. :)

I turned off all music. I'll listen to my own if I feel the need.

👍 First thing I do in every game. Annoying and distracting to me. I just don't understand why everyone seems to need non-stop music blaring no matter where you go. (100 decibel noise/music between innings at baseball games, for example.)

Probably because some people (like me) love music even more than cars! ;)
That's why I like GT not being a full-fledged simulation...I can't stand racing without any kind of music...don't get me wrong...I like a nice engine sound but even in real life I couldn't stand driving without music. I couldn't live without music.

@topic: I think the soundtrack is kind of a grower...in the beginning I was a bit disappointed (although it has one of my alltime fav QotSA songs on it) but after some time I really start liking it. Oh, and I always liked the relaxing jazz and bossanova in the menus...somehow to me it kinda fits.
STILL GT4 had the best soundtrack of the series...

haha agreed =D
music always gets my adrenaline pumping, but I don't mind a little concentration every now and then.

I would take hip hop over this jazz crap. Alright, maybe those genres are more or less tied in their ability to make my years bleed :).

Most of what I heard of the GT5 music (in menus, I rarely use race music and when I do it's custom music) before I finally - surprisingly late - turned it off on my second or third day with the game, was not very pleasing to my ears. At all.

Give me some old fashioned rock or pop, please. Or even classical music if it has to be instrumental only and perhaps a bit better suited for fairly nondescript background music in menus.

Was pleasantly surprised it had real classical music in it, and that's all I run in the menus. I turned all music off for the races though. For most games I enjoy music for the menus and none for the actual gameplay.

Its ok/good. You sort of get in tune with the jazz when you play GT, even if it is foreign to you. (It is to me, lol). Ending credits with Smashing Pumpkins - 1979 gave me chills. Awesome song.
