Should the twin towers be built back, exactly as they were? Or, should a memorial park be set up for all the victims and families? Why or why not?

Personally, I believe it would be best to rebuild them as they were. It would show the world and everyone who supported the attacks that America cannot be so easily discouraged or torn down. They were a symbol of American power, and I think they should continue to be one. Of course, I'm not saying the people who were killed should be forgotten, the new towers should be dedicated to all of them. No doubt, a large and very dramatic memorial could be constructed around and inside the buildings and grounds.

What do you guys think?

I think bigger and better than before. We need to show that even through adversity, we can rebuild and rise out of the rubble bigger and stronger than ever before.

As for the rubble left behind by the terrorist. . . . . .they should load it up into bombers and drop it on O' Ben.

I heard on the news a few days back that they should rebuild them. And that we should have more building of that size in that same city. They were talking about how there would be safety in numbers if we rebuild buildings all around the same hight. :D

Well, at the end of the day, a lot of office space has been lost, and needs to be replaced, and it wasn't just two buildings lost either, it was four.

Looking at it from the other side of the world, I think the space should be used to construct multiple buildings around some sort of memorial park - whether it needs to be as big is open to conjecture.

I don't know the area at all, maybe four buildings could be put in a circle around a small central park/memorial.

Yes. I liked those towers. :) They were pretty darn tall. They also made NYC really what it is. (not really but i think of them when i think of NYC)

No....and I'll tell you why.

Once we clear it out we make a gigantic monument...a giant spire, maybe. I mean, it should be the only man-made object other than the Great Wall that is visible from low Earth orbit.

And then we broadcast all over the world, on every available frequency-

HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!!?!

Seriously, tho, I do think it should become a memorial site.

How about reconstructing them with a floor named for each of the victims that died....

Although they could be too tall, if not just build another and another and another until every single person who died has their own floor.

Oh and yeah, dropping the rubble on Bin Liner is a great idea as well!!

:D

just an idea.... ;)

There needs to be a memorial on the site.

The buildings need to be rebuilt.

We need to send a message to the world that the US only grows stronger in adversity.

I like the idea of naming floors after the victims, but that would require one heck of a building(s).

The area is quite large. I would like to see one humongous building, where the first few floors are a memorial/museum of sorts. It could show the history of the WTC (not just the two towers), from begining to ... end. Then I would stack about 200 floors on top of that, each one with three times the square footage of one of the towers' floors.

What do I think WILL happen? I imagine there will be several (four or five) smaller (40 to 60 floor) buildings built. One of them will be a welcome center with a memorial/museum and a classic U.S. memorial wall with everyone's names on it. The wall will probably be seperated by civilian, police, and fireman.

What we all want to see is a huge building, bigger than anything Earth has ever seen before. Maybe with a radio frequency pushing out "HOW YA' LIKE ME NOW!?!", or in the shape of 'the bird' (: I suspect we'll get what I mentioned above, and we'll all just be content with it.

Maybe that's what needs to happen on that site. We could build -OUR- new massive building project elseware. We have lots of land to choose from. We have lots of big cities that could support such a building project.

Do you guys realize that WTC 1 & 2 (the towers) were the 4th and 5th tallest buildings in the world? "Tallest building" is defined four ways. Highest point, highest floor, highest surface, and I believe most floors. The Sears Tower in Chicago holds three of these. I forget who the other is, I think it's in India. I hope that a building is built in the U.S. that takes all these records and blows them away.

if they are built back, yes it would show that america will stand strong and are able to recover from whatever you throw at them, but who in their right mind would come and work in them again?. the terror now is enough alone but can you imagine working in a building that had been before, blown to peices by a suicide bomber, unexpected, with nothing the goverment could of done to stop it with that short notice, think about it, would you work in it?

I would absolutely go to work there, if given the chance. I would concider it an honor and a priviledge. I would jump at the chance to work in the new WTC complex. Now then, dealing with NYC culture ... that much would be difficult for a southern gentleman like myself (:

Uh actually it was 7 buildings at Ground Zero/ WTC. The :USA: shall rise, and so should the Twin Towers. They also should build a Suspension Bridge leading into New Jersey, and to the memorial, the memorial should be built where there putting the rubble. I think I heard they should ship the rubble to the FBI. :p

Build them back up.

Why wouldn't they be built back up?

I say build 10 or fifteen 100 story buildings all right next to each other.

As soon as you find the land and money to make that happen, let someone know.

build them back up to specs.

Interesting. I wonder if anyone has considered this. They could make mild improvements I'm sure. I still think it would be cool to build one monsterous building that filled the entire site.

Yeah, I'd like to see major improvements too. Like stronger materials.
