What do you think of Gt3 Drifters?

I can actually say thanks to skylineGTR_guy for pulling the thread back on track and stopping the potential flamewar that may have erupted. As I have said, the gramatically illiterate people are the only ones worth the effort of not liking...

I put no effort in not liking, because was not hating i was pointing out the guy who chose the "they're cool" option. Drifting is fun and you don't need to start critizing right away.

I think some of them are cool, but as with any other "thing" or "group" there are always idiots too. When I voted that, I was kinda aiming at there are some cool ppl in it, not every single person.

I'm a drifter but, I act mature unlike most of the people in the dritfing forum.. Maybe thats why I hardly post in it now hmm..... :tdown
Aslo: I know how to type unlike a bunch of the ID loving guys.

I chose "Im indifferent" because IMHO the drifting forum is getting redundant. People asking the same questions and dont search(not that I'm saying they should ALWAYS do this. There could be more users to answer or give an opinion different from the ones said in an old thread.). Or the older users always refering the new users as "noobs, n00bs, newbies.. etc" with the "badass" atitude with short lame posts like...

"go use the search button n00b | dude this is so old | dude REPOST"

Things like that. Ah am I the only one that thinks the same? I just dont post as much (in the GT3 Drifting) as I used to when i first joined here.

why how rude.....ur an idoit hehehe :dunce:

Why isint this nimrod in the Drift forum?

Well, I voted for "I generally avoid them." I just hate it when they say that drifting is faster because some cheesy anime video told them it was. And the grammar is quite annoying. But it's laughable to say "So how was your 12th birthday?"

bustwave.

I also voted for 'indifferent' for basically the same reasons you did. I enjoy drifting, but the drifting forum just doesn't interest me like it used to. It's like there's just nothing left to say.

I'm also one of those members who says "use the search button" a lot in that forum. 95% of the new threads are on topics that have been discussed several times before. I don't see this changing until GT4 comes out.

I gave them an indifferent.

I started drifting after i got 100%. I think its fun and makes you a better driver. After a few weeks of drifting (and no rally practice either) I ran much better on TT9 than ever. On the first run i got silver time and on the next I beat my old record by a full second. It took me forever before just to get that gold medal time. I can only attribute my "mad skillz" to the drifting.

On the other hand, and it is expressed very often, if you ONLY drift and suck at racing there is really no point in it.

Driving with no driving aides and sim tires, racing or drift, is the best way to get better in my opinion. Actually, if you already consider yourself a good racer and are still using racing tires you are wasting your time as much as the initial D crowd.

I love each and every single user here. Regardless of whether they intentionally lose traction or make horrible attempts at grasping the English language.

Drifters, I love you. Especially battle_stage.

It matches the green paint on my AE86.

wtf!!111 u cant hav green paint on the haci roku!!!!!

It has to be panda coloured and have a carbon fibre hood with the 20v engine.

Or you could just get a two toned MKI MR-2.

Drifters take a game about racing and turn it into a game of show. That combined with the fact that many seem to post illegible writing and are biased towards certain cars or lifestyles is the problem i have with many of them.

Wow... I didn't expect to get this many responses... I can't really agree with the things people some say,but this is an opinion poll so i respect that. It is true that many n00b drifters are 12-14 year old kids who think they own the place *cough $treet King$ COUGH* but many people on that forum write legibly, and are at hand to help when somebody requires it. I feel as though I'm repeating myself LoL

I voted 'I generally avoid them', not because I intentionally ignore them but because I rarely know who they are. The ones I've seen have been cool, and can type. I don't go into the Drifting forums, but it is on my 'things to do when I can be bothered' list. I suppose the annoying ones stay in the Drifting forums.

I don't care how someone chooses to drive, it just annoys me when I can't read what people have posted because they can't be bothered to type properly.

They are many nice drifters and very good one like catch my drift, shadow drifter, just to name a few that really impressed me but those guys are shadowed by all those wannabes and noobs that type like a 2 year old mentally affected monkey.

When I first joined this forum, I was a "drifter". Then I changed. After a few weeks in the drifting forum, I got bored to the annoying questions and lack of knowledge. Then I traveled from the GT3 sub forum, to the Automotive section. For some reason I felt that the Automotive sub-forums has alot more interesting and knowledgable topics.

I never went back to the GT3 drifting forum. I felt that those noobs have tooken over the place.

The one thing I hate the most is how they type. Its so annoying. :banghead: My 13 year old cousin types like that. Although I am only 2 year older than him, I dont type like a complete idiot.

Thats pretty much what happened to me. I am a semi-drifter I would say. I never visit the Drifting forums but I still drift for fun on GT3 every now and then.

Thats one thing that seizes to amaze me how they can think it's quicker typing like that too. All that 1337 stuff takes much more time and effort to read also. It's so annoying how young people automatically get branded immature for doing it because there are a lot of teenagers out there who type properly. Im 14 on August the 4th but have not yet ever seriously typed like most of the drifters in that forum. Personally I find it pathetic.

Rant over. Now I must get on with doing my schoolwork. 👎:sly:

well i like to watch the vids and i drift a little on GT3. but i dont take it to the MAX! i do like initial D but i think the 86 aka Hachi Roku was overrated and to exagerated(sp?). everyone wanted to drift because " they were INSPIRED". but i wont vote because im in the middle. would indifferent be in the middle? i dont really talk to a lot of drifters, but i talk to nk4e and toyota drifter. i dont pay too much attention to drifting as much. but i still like to watch it and go to atleast one D1GP. well thats my oppinion...

I voted Stupid.... All a bunch of wannabes for all the reasons that M5Power said except for the 13 year old part. I'm thirteen and I have no interest in drifting. I did have interest in drifting but that was when I was 12...

I have always had a live and let live philosophy. I have never posted on drifting matters simply because it doesnt interest me. For the same reason, I dont go harass those particular members.

What has struck me as a correlation not to be found in any other GTP forum, is that:
  • 99% of tHe_WuRsTT_NaMes for members occur or are associated with the Drifter forum
  • Language deteriorates noticeably in large parts of that forum.

I would like to think that this is mostly attributable to newbies and fanboys who try to impress their hardness on the senior members.

It's happening again in the forum.... a bunch of n00bs just signed up for drifting gt3 style.... OMG I'm going to faint......
