hey everyone,

i was just wondering what i might need to be successful in gt5 rally tracks like toscana and chamonix and the like. i havent actually gone online just yet knowing ill more or less suck, and i was wondering what type of car i might need, what lap times are considered good, etc. =) technique and other tips are always welcome =)

Well first of all practice offline alot. Do the Gran Turismo Rally special event. Make sure you dont brake too late either. Itll kill you. Set your center differential torque detector thingy to 50/50. And turn off traction control. My personal favorite car is my Ford RS200 Rally Car '85 (its Group B so it must be good!) but if they don't allow that much power I like the Ford Focus Rally Car '99. Quite a beast on the snow especially. If you're a bit short on cash you can build your own. Just buy a 4WD car from the UCD and buy a wing, dirt/snow tires, drivetrain parts (especially the torque thingy), some weight reductions, and a crapload of removable power parts. You can add and remove them as needed to meet online HP regularions. Buy all three exhausts and both filters for maximum interchangibility.

As far as lap times, I dont know a whole lot but under 4min on Chamonix main and maybe 4:15 on Eiger K Trail.
