I'm in the market for a new gaming mouse, and I've decided all bets are on.
At first I've been limiting myself to wireless mice, I've used a Logitech G7 since, idk, 2005/2006, and I loved it, so much so, when the feet were starting to wear away I bought another one in carbon/black/blue, so I have two.
Anyway, after many years, they both seem to be having issues now, so unless anyone knows why a Logitech G7 cuts out randomly, momentarily, and often permentantly without re-connecting the transmitter, I'm looking at replacing them, no longer viable gaming mice now that they're doing this, they were excellent (except the grip) for almost 4 and 3 years respectively.
My main favourite, is a Mad Catz product, branded as a Saitek Cyborg R.A.T. 9. I have a 'claw shaped' hand when using a mouse, so I want the biggest mouse I can find, and this looks to be it so far. $159AUD in Australia, $127 if imported from UK.
I also like it because its the only mouse I can find that redoes what the G7 did, but better.
A. Gaming
B i. Wireless
B ii. Rechargable, Swappable batteries - This is my main favourite thing
There's another one which I had counted out, the Razar Mamba, because when it runs low/out you can recharge it, but via a USB cable (and continue using wired) or a dock, which means you obviously can't continue using.
Might work just as well, if I had two, or got over my wired mouse phobia.
And now, for $180AUD I can pre-order its big brother/replacement, the Ouroboros and it has all the settings at 11, customizable grips, probably bigger size and battery, still no swappable batteries though.
Or, I could keep my two, wireless mice, and use them, when I need to* And just get a very solid reliable, but still big and high quality, gaming mouse, of course then I have two mice, and why do that when I can have one that does everything?
*(in bed, from a distance to my PC, opening/closing VLC mostly)
There's the old G9 about $85, R.A.T. 7 $99, GIGABYTE KRYPTON $104 ish, several others I'm sure.
If anyone's interested in what I play on PC, shooters, RPGs, Tower Defence, strategy, main ones off the top of my head.
So, what do you use and why? And which mouse would you reccomend for me? (on this list or not). Thanks
