Did the novelty cars get cut? I'm talking about cars like the Jay Leno Tank Rod, the Auto Union streamliner, Daimler-Benz Patent Car, Caterham(not quite such a novelty), Nike 2022, Ford Model T, etc. I have yet to see a single car like this in the game and frankly it's disappointing. Is there a way to unlock their availability by completing all gold or something else, or are they really just gone? If they are, I don't understand why. We have F1 cars so clearly it's not an issue with the engine not being able to handle open wheel cars, so what is it? Why are these gone?

What 20 other cars?
Press releases boast 850 cars, whereas lists compiled from the dealers show only 830.

The general consensus is that Sony/PD are saving these 20 extra cars for downloadable extras/prizes/etc.

What is the deal with the nike 2022? that car doesnt even exist in real life its purely cg. I thought that GT only featured cars that were real and actually work.

I guess the focus is more on racing in the PSP version. I mean who has the time or battery life to do a lap in those early 1900s benzos.

Might be the surprise that people are talking about. They didn't release info about what the other 20 cars are yet.

And yet... you'll notice that the starter cars are classed as different models. There's nine of these and seven bonus add-ons (Veyron, Enzo, ZR-1, GT-R, Citroen GT, Countach, SLR), which stacks up to 16 additional models - bringing the car list to 846.

The GT by Citroen wasn't a real car. It was made for GT first, then made as a real car.

The novelty cars most likely got cut for performance reasons - most of them had driver models, animations and other such details. Many of then couldn't even be raced in GT4.
The FGT and F2007 don't have much in the way of driver animation and the models are a lot more easily incorporated into the shape of the car as a model, whereas the driver on the Benz Motor Wagon is a lot more complicated shape.

Not to mention some of those cars were almost undrivable on a lot of the circuits.

Well most of the "LM" cars are fantasy too. They may be based on real cars but never actually existed in that configuration in real life. I'm talking of course about the FTO Super Touring, GT-R Concept LM, etc.

That explanation makes sense. It's still disappointing but I can understand the reasoning.

Gone from where? There have never been announced, and may never be announced for the PSP version, so they have not "gone" anywhere.

I'm talking about them being "gone", in relation to the car list from GT4. Lots of people on this board keep saying the game contains every car from GT4 plus each region car and a couple new models. This confused me as I clearly couldn't find some of the most interesting cars from GT4. Obviously not every car from GT4 is in the game, so we need to spread the word in threads where posters make this claim to stop the confusion I had from effecting others.

omg, he means the rest of the cars from gt4 are in gt psp. so why not the fun ones too.

please adjust your underwear.

But it was always intended to be made into a real car...

Anyway, novelty cars were likely cut for performance reasons.
