Its illegal to smoke in a government building. You are allowed to smoke in your own private residence. So what would happen if a president that smoked got elected? Its a government building, and its his private residence. Would they make him leave to smoke? Or could he smoke in the White House?

i would fire him if he told me to go outside (but i dont smoke so it aiight)
Worker: Sir your gonna have to smoke outside
Prez:How about NO u little B*tch Your Firrrred (with Mr Mcman's (WWE) expression from Raw 2 weeks ago.)

I don't think we're likely to vote a President that smokes in front of the camera. I'm not against a candidade just because they like to have an evening or two with a pipe by the fireplace, but the idea of someone making world decisions but thinking in the back of thier mind: "Darn it! I forgot to ask the Secret Service to buy me a carton of Winstons again!" ...it would sort of irk me.

If it's his house, then he's permitted to smoke in it; but there's probably a "smoking room" for that, or he's gotta go outside. I'm sure plenty of elected officials light up a cigarette or two.

Must we all forget President Clinton and his famous cigar?

I'd fathom a guess that a cigarette smoking president will never get elected. An occasional cigar or pipe would have no effect on the run for election.

Well..
in my opinion
if it's a place that "attracts" tourists then it shouldn't really be called a private home..
besides.. the presedent doesn't own the white house does he?

We'd never elect such a man.

Yeah, but if it's his private residence, shouldn't he be able to keep it even after he's not the prez anymore? makes you think doesn' t it..

No no - it's not his private residence. It is definitely a government building.

I would imagine that he'd be able to smoke in the White House, because he's the President. But you wouldn't get to hear about it, and the air-conditioning extractors would be running quite hard.
