What, if any, improvements do you think should be made for GT5. Personally, if they kept GT5 the same as prologue I couldn't be any happier, but as with any game some changes could be made.

Obviously one big improvement to be made would be the online play. Oh, and I know it's kinda nitpicky, but when in the cockpit view, if looking behind it would be cool if the view was from the side your sitting on and not the middle. And I dont much like the physics when on the grass, maybe they are more realistic than I think, but to me they kinda suck.

Online definitely needs some work in the gameplay department. My current top issues off the top of my head:

- Eliminate the rubber-banding device which decreases grip on cars at the front of the field. Or at least take it out of "sim" setting races.

- Re-work the penalty system. The worst current scenario is when a car in front of you slams on the brakes and you get a penalty for hitting into their rear... while they get a speed-boost from the sub-par collision physics. So utterly annoying at Daytona (I won't even race there anymore) or on the straights at Suzuka or Fuji.

can't believe i forgot to mention the penalty system, they need to do alot of work on that.

Nobody else thinks anything needs to be improved upon?

-I found a bad place to get ran into the back of. Suzuka, on the back straight at the chicane. Go to brake for the corner, guy rams into the back of me, and I get stuck on the wall. Took me about 2 minutes(like really, 2 minutes) to get unstuck from the damn wall. By then the race was over for me because there was no chance of catching up.
-Also, I wish they would fix the limited throttle in grass crap. I got pushed off to the inside of corner #7 of Suzuka, the somewhat long uphill one. I couldnt get back on track in a reasonable amount of time because it didnt have the power to go through grass uphill.
-Online needs some work. We need to be able to have rooms, chat, or at least make it so when the host leaves, it doesnt boot everyone out of the race. Also hate the physics tweak they give online when people fall behind needs to leave. Have an option like in GT4 to turn player boost on or off for the people that are behind by a lot. Also would love online replays. No clue why they didnt put it in with online itself.
-More replay controls(at least fast forward, rewind, pause/stop, and play of course)

Won't be getting GT5P until US ver on April 16th, but what you guys have posted seems like things PD MUST do in order to be competitive in the online department.

Also about the low power on the grass, do you mean with all assists off that you don't have full throttle in the grass?

Another thing about the penalty's. I like that FM2 adds time to your lap for going off track or colliding with another car or wall, but you are still vulnerable to idiots ramming you from behind. Does GT5P just give them the part throttle penalty like GT4 for a couple sec?

Oh, I almost forgot:

I can believe that the rubberbanding and forcing of tacky and completely unrealistic "penalties" they are known for.
And amar, my how ignorantly fanboyish of you, even petty i might add.
I'll never understand the act of being a fanboy for the sake of being a fanboy.
It doesn't help the game get any better.
The rest is just general.
You CANNOT have a game that is supposed to be realistic, then have "options" like the formula one brake technology in the production model cars and the lack of grip in "PROFESIONAL" mode, the more realistic mode.
That's what the pro mode is for. When are the fans gonna realise they can't have it be "realisic" and then also have such glaringly obvious flaws like the ones mentioned.
I am still waiting for the A.I. to be more dynamic and much improved.
I'm still waiting for a proper physics model and aerodynamics model to be included.
Taking the banked curves in daytona and then not having the level of grip such banking adds is just not good enough.
I'm still waiting for proper tire grip.
I'm not going to mention the rest as it is not improtant enough right now.
The basic foundation is just not "PROFESIONAL" enough right now to even worry about custom paint shops/decal/etc.
What will PD/sony do when that half of the fanbase that wants it more realistic like me gets dissapointed AGAIN by the lack of said needed improvements?
I still know that the bermuda damage triangle won't show until about halfway through the games lifespan then POW! all of a sudden it will be "Look! we now got damage! excitement applesuace, etc" when i'll be saying, "gee it's a bit to late now, but at least it's there".
I can't wait for the huge downloadable content fee's and the arguments the hardcore fans give to the rest.....like it's worth the price.
Just think they want $40 bucks for a demo, imagine he DLC prices.

My major concern right now is with the lag online, I hate when I start a race and everyone seems to be skipping around sliding sideways and then all of a sudden BOOM I go flying and get a penalty for it. What is up with that? It was kinda funny the first time but after that its extremely annoying. I feel the driving is very good, Although the FR cars do seem to get loose on daytona fairly easy in the banked corners like the post above me said. But I love how the cars feel, Also noticed some aliasing issues with the shadows in the cockpit view..But thats just nitpicking

And chadspeed I believe thats what it is, because when you get in the grass in professional mode it shows red for like 3/4 of the throttle like TCS is on even if its off, Arcade mode doesnt seem to do this though, It really does suck to get punted into the grass in professional mode

Sound, definitely. GT always had a bad sound on all the titles of the saga. I wish one day some cars could sound good, and the effects. It's a shame how the Ferrari sounds on GT, they sound like on SEGA Genesis games while Ferrari Challenge has this sound for example:

And no, the fact that this game is focused in Ferrari doesn't justify that because it's just all about money and work, and Polyphony Digital has more of both plus they games sold more that what Ferrari Challenge could sell... so it's really a BIG shame.

It's the error that I've always seen on GTs.

Yeah the sound really needs some work. Take my favorite car, the Dodge Viper GTS for example. It's had the same sound since GT2. It sounds nice, but nothing really like what it should in real life (i've heard one before at a car show in Pigeon Forge, TN). However, that was an old RT/10. But still.....

Some cars (mostly RWD) oversteer when they shouldnt and also the drafting is just not right

• improved sound
• improved low speed physics
• improved tuning options and parts
• much improved A.I.
• implement day/night cycles and weather effects
• a real Le Mans style grid, including LMP and GT classes
• improved rally physics and stages

All of them above.

A pure super realistic hard core mode (with on/off option).

Realistic crash physics, with the possibility to roll over (all 6 DoF's) a car, like in RBR.

Real time damage, structual, mechanical, electrical etc...

More replay options.

I just got done watching BreakerOhio's Beemer drift vid. It looks like they still need to improve the tire smoke. I think they made it look better and the trail is now longer than GT4. The main problem is when watching the replay it looks like Breaker is pulling a long white flag behind his car. Watch the vid you will agree. It just looks so fake the way it all disappears at the same speed he is driving.:yuck:

Here are some pics I took in FM2. I think it has some realistic looking smoke. It actually changes transparency and shape and dissipates slowly. I think GT5P's smoke just stays the same shape and transparency until it disappears, that's why it looks bad and needs improvement.
