I was looking at the settings used by the people with some of the best times round motegi in gt academy last night and noticed that the vast majority of them had all aids off except abs 1 and active steering strong!
I've never used active steering and never really gave it much thought (sounds like a horrible auto pilot kind of thing) until now so just curious as to what it does, pros and cons?

It helps keep you in the middle of the road. Basically an aid for people who have bad steering control, and tend to drive all over the road.

And people who want to be at the top of gt academy leaderboards!
I wonder if its particularly helpful when using a wheel?

^LOL!^

Basically, it makes small corrections to counter errors made by the driver.

Then I can see how that could be useful when using a wheel, as with ds3 its easy to switch opposite lock from one side to the other but its not so easy with a wheel, so could active steering eliminate some of the need to do this?
