Hello, I have a problem, I keep seeing "You have been disconnected from the server." I have searched many times and see other people in the same boat as me, but there is no resolution. What is bugging me is I i see the "you have been disconnected from the server" message and I don't know if that is internet problem or getting kicked. I will usually get that message right after I join a room, so there really is no reason for someone to kick me. Any help is appreciated thanks.

I have a feeling that means you got kicked out. It has happened to me several times, for x or y reason I feel people are going to kick me out and I end up reading that message. Lets wait for someone to clarify this

Its good and bad at the same time to know the problem is not on my part. I was expecting the GT community to be much more mature than this, but it seems I get kicked for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I just join, then I get kicked within like 15 seconds. Today I wasted 3 hours doing NOTHING because I couldn't find a suitable room to race in, then when I finally find one I get kicked. WTH.

Wired tends to be faster and more stable for *DUH* reasons. I had the same issues with a lot of games getting D/C'ed a lot. I finally ran another line for my PS3, sure I still get D/C'ed from games but a hell of alot less then before.

I can't really run a wire since my ps3 is in the basement. My router is also about 5 years old and I have to unplug and plug in the power cord (restart the router) once in a while because the internet drops. If I upgraded to a better router would that work? Or would I still get DC because I am wireless?

It's a connection error. You are not going to get kicked out of every room!

Just to bring that to everyone's attention again.
This message is not the kicked out message, it is the connection failure message.
I had this happen several times a night with my wireless router.
I ran a hard line to my PS3 and I have only had it happen once in the last 4 days since changing.
Not that this is necessary everyone's problem, but it is definitely a connection issue.
It could be with your PS3, your router, your modem, your ISP, the Internet pathing, or the PD servers. Any and all of those can experience problems which result in lost connections.
And finally, PD has already acknowledged problems with their networking code and are working on improving it.
The failure rate got much better after the 1.05 update and they are continuing to fine tune it for coming updates.

Thanks. What is the kicked out message then?

I forget the exact verbiage, but something along the lines of "The host has chosen to reject you from this room."

it says that if your are kicked as well as i heard them say on there mics they would kick me.

hernnez is right. Today these guys in the room said in their mics "why don't you put a password on so nobody can join????" then seconds later I got the disconnected from server message. I can conclude that the kicked message and internet disconnected message is the same. Kind of a pita to sometimes not know if u got kicked or dc tho, they should really change it.

"You have been disconnected from the server." will appear for the following causes:

-You're connection had an error
-You've been kicked by the host

But PD should really change the wording if you've been kicked, to something like "You have been kicked from the server." One word PD, one word. (disconnected to kicked)

Listen to this guy. Tried it with a couple of friends.

If you try to go back into the room you were disconnected from and it says "room cannot be found" when your trying to join then you know you've been kicked by the host.

This has happened to me on occasion.

My solution is to create my own race!

What about "you cannot join this room now, try again in a short while and you will" or something like that?
