What is the Performance Points Formula?

Unknown, but it takes downforce, power, power curve, weight, and, weight balance into account at least.

I think PP is most strongly correlated with power and downforce.

PP ignores transmission and suspension upgrades for some reason.

@Exorcet I agree with your post and wish the pp followed how it was implemented on GT5P, as tires, transmission setups and also the suspension were tied into the pp.

Yeah it is silly that tires, suspension, transmission, and drivetrain modifications do not affect the performance rating. A stock car on Racing Softs, with a tuned suspension, transmission and differential would certainly be faster than a stock car on say Sport Softs and no other modifications....yet these two examples would have the same PP rating.

Tires being left out is odd, but I'm extremely happy they did so. Back when I went online with GT5P racing online would consist of two distincltly different kinds of tunes. Cars with gobs of power, tons of balast and comfort soft tires and somebody on racing tires with a more conventianal setup.

To sum it up the braking zones were a nightmare, and speeds were vastly different.

I dont think they have to factor in tires as long as we're all using the same tires.

In some cars though when you drop the power the PP goes up(X2010, Speed 12) so it may be to do with drivability aswell.

I agree with Matty, the buick specials pp increses at about 90% power. I think its because of hp overkill, just not necessary n does make the car faster other than in a straight line

@ 2 posts above:

Better power/weight ratio?

It takes the following into count:

Power
Weight
Downforce
Weight Distribution
Rigidity/Miles (Marginal; Between varying used standard models of the same car)

PP and tire restrictions are the best way to enjoy online public lobbies. Quick, painless, and easy matching. For most situations you want a certain minimum of downforce (20-30 preferably in front), then you want to add as much power as you can, and lastly start lightening.

Lightening is the last thing you want to do when setting your car up for a PP game.
