Hello all. Not certain this has been asked before, but what is the point of a demolition derby lobby? I see them every now and then, and I don't understand why someone would make a lobby like that. You can't eliminate anyone, because the cars don't stall. Any other opinions?

People are bored so they just crash into people for fun. Its what you would expect from a demo online pc sim. Organized leagues with signups and passwords have great racing.

Its totally possible to crash a car till it stops running. Ive seen it before

16/16 demo derby on top gear with high damage is awesome

No you can't on GT5 sadly. Unless they secretly changed it in the last 2 days.

Yes you can, I'm almost certain.

When it happened it was prior to Spec2. so things might have changed since then. But with heavy damage you can definitely kill a car. (took about half an hour of constant ramming by other cars)

Well, the damage needs to be set to "Heavy" for permenant damage to occur, and LOTS of smashing needs to happen.

Ahhaha wait are you people serious I can't actually go into a lobby and just smash into each other until there's one man left running? I must try this of it is true.

Been in one of those. Actually is a lot of fun, the cross over points on the track get pretty scary. :scared:

Eventually you just cannot drive the car in a straight line.

This was my thought exactly. As I've been in 20lap 2 way races (my invention) at Daytona with heavy damage, where it's optimal to kill your opponents cars (emergency brake sliding the back end to hit oncoming traffic damages their front suspension and engine not yours) and I've never seen a car stall. Limping at 30mph with broken suspension and bald tires yes though.
