What is the Possibility of Team Endurance Races?

I am wondering about the feasibility of having a team endurance race. Example: 2-4 online friends race on the same team(one car) for a four hour(or 24 hour) endurance race. Every time the car pits the team has the option to change drivers, if so they get in and off they go. Just like in a real life 24 hour endurance, your team must factor in sleep, fatigue, and other breaks.

Using head sets to talk to each other, it could be like having crew chiefs watching and aiding in the race. During a 24 hour marathon match you could go to work, the store, and the bathroom, come back and take over for a while, watch others, and have a great time.

This could develop into racing teams, club vs club matches, ect.

I did some light searching and couldn't find a post dedicated to this...if I am jumping the gun I apologize.

Your thoughts...

It's been suggested before. PoDi has a long list of things to do and they're barely paing attention to it...

So, sorry for crushing your dreams but I'd say the possibility of team endurance races online is zilch.

I agree it shouldn't be a top priority, but I am curious as to the demand of such a proposition or if the community would even embrace the idea with a large number of participants.

I had the exact same thought (but my post had a little bit more info in regards to the race) and I got a lot of takers. However, due to recent school schedules, I won't be able to partake in these endurance races for a while... It is a great idea that PD needs to think about as they downsized the career endurance races so you know they had to think of us who still want them. What I'd like to see is this idea, however, when you are not the driver for your team, you are taken out of the lobby and put in as a spectator of the lobby so you don't interfere with connections... That way, you can have 16 cars on track, with an additional 48 drivers waiting to drive in their car...

It's a great idea, it's just that PD Sit on their tails waiting for things to happen when we are pleading for them to do it already..

Could you post a link, I'd like to take a look.

Well as a spectator couldn't you still watch the race and talk to your team without disrupting the connection?

And what about adding a view from the start/finish line flagmens chair? That would be cool too.

My post:

My idea of a co-op endurance race is where I can partake at a WEC event. It would be a normal team of 3 that stint at max of 4 hours, and then rotate off. One driver against the 16 (as in 15 other cars on track) or however many is allowed. My other two teammates will be in a garage/spectator mode, watching it on a "live" feed, where they can tune between a cinematic of whatever car, or onboards of any other car including their own. We would also have an engineer, that would tell telemetry and reply to drivers, "come in this lap for two, a splash, or driver change" who would also want to rank up in some sort of system PD implements. If no engineer takes place for that team, we could have an ai reminder, who can be turned off if the driver doesnt give two cents for it.

Now, we already have characters with racing suits, so when the driver gets out, well, he gets out of his car and walks to the garage. And the teammate spectator mode, well there are other games out there where you can spectate and not be apart of the lobby. And the engineer mode, well we already have live telemetry on replays so this is possible. Make the engineer with a mic on spectator and wallah (or however you spell it). Of course everyone should be able to talk but i feel as if this will be a true simulator.

If this were to happen, i think people would get another side of racing and see the grinding work that goes into it. It's more than just a game..

Soo... Basically if we take out the whole co-op and online stuff, which I'd still like to have, and make this all for single player/a-spec as well, I'd think it'd be pretty kickin. Anyways that's my idea of what endurance a should feel like.

I also wish we could get more of the race week feel for WEC events such as multiple p session and then multiple q sessions both at night and day.

Yeah so that's my post... The thread was about enduro anyways so you should probably leave this thread and go bring that one back to life..
