I don't know what's going on. I installed Counter Strike 1.6, yesterday afternoon, and I ran it for about an hour until it froze. So I held my power button for 4 seconds so that it would Turn Off, it did, but when I turned it back on, and I logged into my account, the computer would freeze if I moved the mouse, and it would not load. I had to turn it off, and do that procedure 4 times until it finally loaded. Then, this morning the same thing started happening, so I un-installed Counter Strike, and turned it off, the proper way, and when I loaded the same thing happend. So once again, I had to turn if off with the power button, and then I tried it and it barely managed to load.

I don't know what's going on. I've scanned for spyware and viruses.

Is there a problem in my computer?

So your saying my Celeron is the cause of all this?
I was being mean saying Celerons suck.

You have that Prosavage stuff. The drivers in that don't like a lot of games, that might be your problem.

Possible video driver conflict or loading issues. That is one of the things I would look into. Are you running a Nvidia chipset with Windozer XP? you might want to reinstall the video driver and download an updated one. I would start with that and a diagnostic startup through msconfig first. See if it freezes. If it does boot into Safe mode and see if it freezes. . .

What programs do you have loading at startup?

These are the programs.
  • ZoneAlarm
  • AVG 7.0 Anti-Virus
  • GetRight(download speeder/manager).

But note, the problem seem's to be gone now, I just want to know why it was happening, incase it happens again.
