I, like everyone else waited and waited for GT5 to be released. And when it finally did I bought the collectors ed. I've been playing racing games for 15 years both on PC and consoles, everything from arcade type games like PGR to so called simulators.

When GT5 first came out I played it but was so dissapointed after a week that I didn't play it for years. This weekend i thought i'd give it a chance because I figured what was so bad about this game must have gotten fixed with an update over the years...No such luck!

My biggest problem with the game is the terribly poor sound. I am not exaggerating much when I say that Test Drive from 1995 sounds just as good. In what universe does a Ferarri F40 sound like a sick cat trowing up?
And the physics...In what reality does a car totally loose grip when just a small part of the rear outer tire is on the grass? It's like the 3 other tires are not even there. Isaac Newton would be laughing his pants off if he saw a car go into a barrier with 150mph at an angle of 45deg and stick to that barrier at 45deg until the car comes to a stop instead of straighten up against the barrier.
And the graphics compared to Forza 4 is bad. I guess they had to go with 720p at 30fps for it to work at all but I don't think the game manages 30fps because you can clearly see tearing so it probably runs at 25 or something?

The interface is a nightmare and the PP system is a nightmare. And maybe it's just me? but how do you increase the skill of the AI? I just drove a race at Monza with the same type of car and class as the AI. I started from 6th and after the first corner I was on my own for 5 laps and finished 1 minute before the AI who came in 2nd.

And why have 1089 cars that sounds like crap and most of which doesn't even have an interior? I'd rather have 10 cars that look and sound awsome...

I could go on and on because there is so many thjings wrong with this game but i won't.

Say what you will about Forza 4 but the game and cars look great, sound awsome and the feel of the physics reminds you of the laws of physics on this planet Earth. The game runs with a steady framerate. You can understand the pointssystem and every car has an exterior aswell as an interior.

I had such high hopes for GT5 but i guess it's hard to find a good racing game on a console. Especially on a PS3.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Another day, another thread like this...?

All I will say is that, while it's not perfect, I have certainly got my moneysworth from it. It's still the only console game that I have played every day since release.

So, you make a new account on these forums and your first post starts off by bashing the game. We already have several threads discussing these very matters if thats the route you wanna take.
Furthermore, I find it funny that you say that you haven't touched GT5 in years when it hasn't even been out 2 years. I agree, the game is not perfect, but thats no reason for you to make your very first thread a GT5 complaint thread when, like I said, we already have threads discussing the games flaws.
