I had a nice momo steering wheel setup for my computer a while back and really enjoyed it, but I've always played GT3 with the standard controller. Directional pad for grip and analog stick for drift. Works well for me, but I think I'm jones'n for a wheel & pedal setup.

I'm sure I'm big-newb'n with this one, but I am curious to see what the majority of the GT3 drift community is using to pilot their vehicles... State your specific model if applicable.

I'm going to get the GT4 package that comes with the wheel, but until then I'm using the ps2 controller. It seems to work alright for me. :shrugs:

Yea same here I'm holding out until I can save a couple bucks and get GT4 WITH the Logitech pro steering wheel. That way I don't have to re-learn 900 degree steering with old 200 degree style

ive been using teh controller for a while, i finally got my driving force proand well...its one helluva learning curve, especially on GT4:P. Its hard for me now jsut using 200 degree mode on GT3 trying to drift. For now i'll jsut stick to the trusty analog stick for everything drift related.

DS2 for now... maybe if i get REAALLY into it to the point where it's a justifiable investment i will.. or if GT4 makes the gap between DS2 and and wheel SO big that DS2's are inferior then i'll consider pickin one up...

but if i do hafta buy one, i'll just go buy the best one... if u're gonna do it.. do it right

Interesting discovery... I thought a lot more people used the wheel over the controller. I guess I don't feel so out of the loop after-all

But still... the Logitech Pro is $79 on overstock and $106 on Buy.com ... helleva deal. :sly:

I'm going to go with a wheel and it's not because the wheel itself offers better control.

But the pedals are great( when they work! :ouch: ) and the feedback from the wheel lets you know what the car is doing without having to see it on the screen.

That's the real advantage to the wheel that I've found.
👍

Using the DS2 for now which is good, but eventually with the release of GT4 I would like to move to Driving force pro can't wait

I've been pretty succesful with just the PS2 Controller, but when GT4 rolls around I might get the new Logitech wheel.

oh crap......they are selling the wheel WITH the game?

so like......my pre-order that i've had since january will be good for the game only.....

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Yea I'm finding it really hard to be consistant with the analog stick for countersteer. I usualy just commit to an angle and try and keep it going with the throttle. Once I learn a specific car better I will upgrade the flywheel from semi, to full race for better responce, but it is much easier to modulate with the thicker flywheel. ...Just like in real life. I love this game :)

REally? I found it much much easier to keep my revs where I want them with the better flywheel and clutch. But hey, if that helps you to learn, more power to you! :)
