I was just wondering what everyones favorite corners (including multi-apex) to drift were.

Mine is the the one right after the big straight on Apricot Hill. It's a big wide left that tightens up at the end and the track is really wide. It's a pretty high speed drift, my favorite kind.

the small U-turn in SS5. If you've got the right car with some s tires it's really awesome to watch the car slide through the turn perfectly from the camera up high.

I love the big U-turn in apricot hill (followed by a straight and then a small u-turn), with AWD, with RWD I like one after the "after-tunnel" straight with the yellow stripes on the inside.

You mean double apex on Grand Valley East II ;)

My personal favorite is that huge double apex in Autumn Ring Reverse.

Nope... I meant Grand Valley East... The reverse double apex is too easy... Although you can get some good angle...

The turns before the tunnel?

Oh I see what you mean. I was going to put that in my video but I forgot :grumpy:

mine would be the right side of of autumn ring, really you could say it's 2 turns instead of 4....

for a single corner, the turn right before the long [straight] tunnel on Trial Mountain

oh, where to start.....

there's 2 right handers on Infineon Sports Car couse that are great for speeding into, getting sideways super early, and just gunning it through to the exit. Lots of run off, ...not very challenging, but you can be creative there.

i'm also big fan of dual apexing turns 1 and 2 of GVEII with big angle,

but I think I'm going to agree with FI on this one:
the dual apex after the loop on ARII.
There's so many stages to that drift, I find... and it's just fun. You have an entry that is blind over a crest, a long straight to slide down, and 2 corners of varying radii. Good challenge, and one that you won't get many other places.

at a significantly lesser degree of difficulty, I've always enjoyed pounding a car through the dual apex as you come out of the 2nd tunnel of Midfield II. I can't explain it, but there's just something about that turn that I find satisfying. ~shrug~

It's much harder then it was in GT3. In GT3, I could almost do it blindfolded after the entry.

My favorite turn / corner to drift is the small right hand thru the second tunnel into big left hand double apex in Midfield. I like to drift that set of turns coming from either way. Turn one in apricot is rather fun also especially if I link the following corners .

i love tons of corners, so i cant just choose. but ill give a few that i like.
Midfield II .. last corner that double apex is hard, but fun(xlink), and the other double apex also.
Apricot Hill, linking the double apex and next 3 turns is fun
AH II 2,3, and 4th corners are fun to link.
Deep Forest manji down the straight, right into the first turn, and 3,4,5 are fun to link, the sweeping right #6 is fun. and linking the last 3 turns are awesome too.
i think thats enough for now...

I love SSR11, both the GT1 and the newer version. I'd love to know why it isn't in GT4. :grumpy:

Anyhoo, in the GT3 version you had the first few 90 degree corners, then 2 consecutive hairpins. Ohhhh the fun I had linking those corners together!

Another old fave is the section after the back straight on Trial Mountain. You have that left-hander with a huge amount of track to play with, then you go up the incline and the wheels start squealing as you lose traction over the crest, then it's straight into a right-hander for an easy drift. I don't think I've ever done that corner without drifting. :D

El Capitan is great too, probably my fave for drifting in GT4. Can't really name a single corner, the whole thing is just begging to be drifted.

The turns before the tunnel?

Well, the double apex before the tight 90 degree turn (just before the tunnel) is a lot of fun, especially if you link it from turn 2 through to the tunnel...

However, I meant the last double apex on Grand Valley East... The one that starts tight and widens out... Very tough to do with any kind of consistancy...

;)

The wide U-turn on the smaller Super Stage Routes. The last turn before the straight.

All the courses have they own hot spot for drifting. But for me one of the best is the last corners of trial mountain, but I really like to drift the whole deep forest course.

oh another favorite was the first two turns of Autumn Ring II, I never knew how much angle you could get in there, especially with a ## car (will change once GTPDC4 results are in, as I can't say otherwise judges will know my entry :D)

oh and the double apex is great too, the first one makes it seem like you can drift forever with no countersteer

well, I use nurb as test track when I try to find which cars are natural drifters. thus, I co almost every one of them sideways, with the help of throttle, lock-to-lock or e-brake! :dopey: ubt, for real drifts? el capitan is one of the best, ,autumn ring too.

ARGH I need to learn all that words... Well I will say which is my favorite when I can drift. But I like that once before the tunnel in Midfield.
