It just hit my today what my favourite type of day is. I know that most will have a summertime setup, but not I. I was out walking today and realized this is the perfect day for me:

Temp: about 45F/8C
Sky: overcast
Wind: calm to very light
Air: smell of moisture and distant fireplace smoke

Why I like this you ask? I am a winter person and I truly love snow. But this day is not hot by any means, no sun to bake you, just wear pants and a sweatshirt. Overall, very comfortable for me.

What is your favourite weather day and why?

Certainly wasn't today for me, 2c, very windy, luckily it was quiet and I got to sit in front of our heater all day in work

Perfect day for me is ~20c, no wind, no clouds, out in the car with my shades on listening to some Heavy Metal with the windows down :D

My vacation 3 years ago, that was perfect. In Austria, minus 20c, in the sun, only snow in the mountains, drinking a ice cold beer in my shorts and shirt (can only be done in the sun) and no wind at all. Oh man I really need to go back.

About 18-30 degrees Celsius for me. Clouds in the sky but largely blue skies and a clear night with a beautiful moon. :D

-20c is quite cold for shorts and shirt. How much beer did you consume before doing so? LOL!!

About 65°F/18°C, overcast with lightning & rain, light to medium wind, in September/Autumn with leaves on the ground.

Conditions like bleurabbit7's would be a second favorite, and Fezz ST's a third.

Once it hits 75°F/23°C+ I always become miserably hot. :yuck: Out here at my fiancée's parents' place I can't get much relief over the winter because the wood stove in the main area is overkill -- it has to be in order to keep the whole house warm. It's funny, both I and their malamute dog perk up and become noticably more active if we go outside into the snow and cold.

That's not far off what I would consider to be my "favourite weather day", although I would prefer it to be about 15C with small breaks in the cloud and almost no breeze.

I'm definitely more of a winter person than a summer person as well.

Temp: -10F/-23C
Sky: Partly Cloudy
Wind: Very Calm

Plus lots of snow.

I love winter, which for some reason seems to be vacationing this year as it was 40F and raining.:odd:

Summer:
between 8 and 30C
a little wind
Rains at Night and Dry days!! (Lets me get out on my bike, keeps the place looking gorgeously green)

Winter:
Between -5 and 20C
no wind
Snows at Night Dry during the day! (you can't beat getting up in the morning to fresh snow (as long as your prepared for it)

Summer: 20-25 degrees c, mostly sunny, light breeze, maybe a storm in the afternoon (i like severe weather).

Winter: Snow. Lots of snow. Preferably about -5 degrees c and snow that works for sledding and packing. And a lot of it, did I mention that?

I love hot weather. 85F-95F degrees and sunny with a little breeze. Our honeymoon in Florida last year at The Magic Kingdom, Sea World, Busch Gardens, and Aquatica was pure weather perfection. Loved it. I hate and I mean I hate the cold. Anything under 60 degrees is too cold for me. Which sucks since I live in Michigan. I really need to move down south.

I live north and west of you, in Canada. We get -40F/C in the winter with strong winds. So we know cold.

I find it interesting that some Americans are using Celcius. It is the standard for all countries but America. Good for you guys.

My perfect day
Temp: 0C/32F
Weather: Snow.
Sky: Overcast of course.
Walking in the mountains

This was THE most mild winter ever in Michigan. So winter was very enjoyable for me this year. We broke a ton of records for warm weather in the winter months. Usually its not uncommon for us to hit -20f in the winter but I think we barely hit positive 15f as our low this year. Thats warm for winter. Only got a couple of inches of snow the entire winter. I have never seen a winter that mild in this state, ever.

We also had the best winter, I never plugged the car in once. We had the second warmest winter since they've been keeping records.

I like it when it's in the low to mid 70F in the day time with sunny skies, and at night I like it when it gets into the 40 and 50F and you can sleep good at night.

I also don't mind a day here and there when it's in the low 60s F and rainy.

I hate wearing shorts, so I like it when it's cool enough that if I go out somewhere I can wear a pair of jeans or khakis.

Winter I don't mind so much so long as I don't have to drive through the snow. Me and my old man go down the street with the snowblower and do all the neighbors' driveways and then I have another neighbor who helps us quite often that has a snowblower attachment for his John Deere lawnmower.

I absolutely adore thunderstorms with torrential rain, thunder and lightning. The sound and rumble of thunder and the flash of lightening is really entertaining.
