What is your opinion about the online time-trials ?

A question to all GT5:P owners who already managed to get into the online (time-trial) rankings..

I managed to get into the top 100 at High-Speed-Ring with a Lotus Elise 111R / Tuned and a laptime of 1.10:02 but the best driver using (almost) the same car is ranked at postion 3 (Lotus Elise / Tuned) with a laptime of about 1.08:50

So i wonder if a position in the top 100 is "good" or "poor".
If we would know how many people are trying to get into the rankings overall it would be somehow better to judge.

I mean if id knew there were 10000 people trying to get into the top 100 id say position 100 is great ! But on the other hand if there were only 110 trying: -> rank 100 is poor..

So what do you think ?
 
OK so what about beeing up in the top 50 ?
I managed to get an 1.09.60 and placed 48 (yesterday evening..)

That should be good or not ?
 
I'm ranked 36 ish on the Daytona Super Speedway with a tuned Elise. Think I got the low 49's or very close to it.

Apart from the hackers, the online time trials are a good challenge. 👍
 
I think the time is more important.

If 1st is 1:08.50 and you were doing 1:08.6, that's good no matter whether you're 2nd or 500th.

Given at least 1.4million people have the game, you're probably doing OK

I quite enjoy doing time trials but im sure the top times might be achieved by some fairly advantageous barrier hits but im fairly sure allegations of actually 'hacking' the game are unfounded so far...
 
I lapped 2nd at Daytona Super Speedway with an NSX-R.

There weren't much lap times, I was 0.2 secs slower than 1st guy.
This was 2 or 3 days ago, dunno if I'm still in that position.

Just check same car same track, if split difference isn't that big, you're ok.
 
i LOVE the time trials so far... car make time, and total time.. enough options, and this will probably the mode i'll be in if online stays crap and once i get all cars.
