Hi im new here and Im here to tell you about my ideas for GT.
Gran Turismo is a great game as it is, don't get me wrong. But something has been really bugging me. For instance; Im in a Mazda RX7 TC and im against some Super GT cars, Some LM cars, and some rally cars.... :/ All im asking for is the choice of what opponents you have and their livery's. The way it will work is; Main Menu > Arcade mode > Single Race > Difficulty > Track Selection > Car selection; Now on that we have the Driving options? Well at the top there is a tick-able box that will give you choice to randomise Opponents or Choose. So i have the box ticked, now I press OK. Now it brings you to a screen just like the dealership one, but with EVERY SINGLE car on the game under its Manufacturer. In the left hand side bottom corner there is a car count, in the right there is a click-able link so you can revise the cars you have selected. So you have all 16 cars (or many as the selected track can hold) And you select OK which is in the Revising car link. And it takes you to the track and your away! Simple. But now I have something that would make it better... In the main menu you have the ability to create tracks... Why not championships?!?! If you do click on the "Create a Championship" Link in the Main Menu you could make a series of tracks, (Up to 12?) The Championship creation menu would look just like the Track selection menu but with the same extra controls on the bottom of the screen, just like the Opponent selection controls, now you have made your list of tracks and saved and named your championship. You can locate your championship under the Arcade mode Tab in the main menu. Now imagine making a Full on Super car tournament! Thanks to my function of "Car Selection" you can actually make it a super car tourney.
Thanks for reading.
Yours TDDB.

Probably because the AI is a joke regardless of which car they're in.

Awesome idea! probably the best I've heard in this forum. 👍
And this is a feature that could be added with a patch.

Somebody please tweet K Y!

Excellent idea :) would be useful to implement, might wanna stick it in the feedback section as that's where PD apparently have been known to look for GTP user's suggestions in particular. If you can get votes there, your on a winner. Liking this

This has been mentioned before, that does not make it any less true. This would single handedly change GT5's offline mode from irrelevant to worth playing.

Ai too slow, choose faster opponent cars. Want a multiclass Le Mans style race against the AI? Want to race a GT car against a prototype? No problem. Fancy putting your tuned Supra up against a Veyron, consider it done. Ferrari vs Lambo, done. It goes on and on. I can't imagine this would be very hard to implement either.

After adding SPA, this game has my top 5 tracks so im happy

So next a couple of F1 if possible, any year....

I think much of the problem comes from the fact that the AI is absolute crap.

:scared: What does AI pace have to do with the possibility to choose your oponents and create your own event / championship?
What if we are able to create a proper Super GT championship? a JGTC championship? Supercar championship with the car WE want? Or everything else that comes to your mind? Wouldn't be totally AMAZING??? 👍

P.S. AI in arcade mode from 2.0 is much faster and competitive.

That sounds completely stupid and I can't imagine why anyone would want a mode in a game that worked like that. It would be much better to have the game automatically pick a field based on its rating of your car's speed.

I think I would like that [always 99% identical] field to have a lot of variety in it too. Cars ranging from much, much slower than yours to significantly faster would be good. Maybe also cars from very similar and different genres, like modern supercars vs classics and touring racecars.

Add in a choice of difficulty between Slow, Unbelievably Slow, and No Way Will I Click This To Even See How Slow, and you've got gaming perfection.

The only time the AI is crappy is when your car is over powered and you drive like there aren't any penalties or rules.
Add a option to race tuned AI cars and a option enable or disable penalties and you have my vote.👍

That first sentence is very much untrue. The AI is only less crappy in Arcade. They still take the wrong line, too conservatively, and will still smash right into you when you are fully alongside or in front if you don't know and compensate for the lines they run. They'll only be competitive if in much faster cars.

The second sentence absolutely should be included, along with the slipstream adjustment and an option for catch-up. I'd like to be able to run on different tires too so it would be possible to race with cars in the same class.

So what your saying is the AI makes mistakes... and not drive like they are on rails.I thought this was good AI lol

I do one make races in practice mode a lot, our cars have the same exact specs and the AI is competitive so..

No, I mean at their best the AI is consistently driving slower than necessary, on badly designed rails. :)

I like that they make mistakes, but when they repeatedly take a line that makes them slow down after a corner, or reliably try to run you off the road in the same way in the same corner every time you're there, it's a problem with them, not a lifelike mistake. They aren't as horrible(outside of A-spec) as it sometimes sounds, but they still have some major problems.

And they are of course faster on some tracks than others just like real people, except they have to wait for a programmer to [not bother to] teach them the right lines. At Tokyo they smoke me, at Nord I need to drop two tire grades to have a decent one-make race.

Sorry, getting OT.

The AI in seasonal A-Spec STOP in a corner if yoy get near them. It's a freaking joke. In Arcade when you can control their aggression from 1 to 10, they are way better. Of course not perfect, but at least they don't park the car and get out when you catch them like in seasonals.
