I started racing online for a month now and i havent raced with someone on the same level with me. Only time i saw someone of my level was in a small room with 2-3 french people. Where is everyone? Are they playing iRacing? Why? Physics? Big Slipstream?

Join a league here, that will knock you right in to next week.:dopey:

There doesn't seem to be any competition in GT5 public lobbies at all, not like, F1 2010 for intstance where there will usually be one or two people who are capable of beating you.

You don't go to rooms- instead you should check the GT5 sub-forum for Racing series. events etc. : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=77

I have checked it. Very few people are really fast. I also try the WRS time trials. 1-2 guys are fast but thats all. I dont want to sound egoistic but i think most good drivers prefer other games. In gt5 prologue it was better competition. So i ask why you think?

+1 to joining Leagues.

Check out Legend of the Streets from my signature. We've got different calibre drivers there. But it's mainly 1v1 though and we run on Sports Hard Tyres.

trust me buddy, you havent hit the right rooms yet.

there are rooms that an average driver can win all night in, Then there are rooms YOU (or anyone) will be lucky to win twice all day in

I tell you, you are wrong. I have searched everything. Its much lower competition than what i expect with comperison to GT5 Prologue. But nobody answering my question, everybody try to tell me that i slower than i think.👎

Come and register in my league then, there's 2 drivers on the leaderboard. 1 has never lost one battle yet and another is very good as well. There are many other good drivers as well.

Ok, if you insist.

I'd be willing to bet you aren't that good.

Ok. Enough with all you guys thinking im a little kid saying nonsense.

Bring me any driver you want, any tires/track you want and choose any car from the recommended list.

So i ask why you think?

I think that maybe really fast people race real things, Go karts, motorcycles, expensive race cars ..... So using that premise they probably live in the Burbs or the country because they can afford it. Around me living in the country (3mi out of town) the powers to be could care less about giving us strong internet access to be allowed to game online.

Your problem is you're entirely to fast to play on par with 99.9% of people playing any game.
The couple hundred that can stay with you are scattered around...everywhere.

I always have a challenge at hand online. Maybe your not joining the right rooms.

Just to check how fast you are, try and beat these times:

The maybe you should try adding ballast/weight to your car to even up the competition. I believe a lot of racing series use "success ballast" or "weight handicap". But on a more serious note: the best racers usually come out during GT Academy TT competition.

I like when someone asks "what you think?" and then tell them that they are wrong.

Beat a few people in random rooms and suddenly your ego explodes like the US national debt.

interesting guy...

Perhaps some of you should check how fast the driver is before assuming he's full of it.
Technically, so far none of his posted times have been verified, but that's presumably because he hasn't been registered in the registry yet.

Unless he registered in the WRS just to post BS times, this guy is probably faster then almost (if not) everyone currently viewing the GT5 forum.

Having seen some of the splits that SuperSic has posted, I'm with CSLACR on this one...

Thank you for your support guys. I ask a clear question but everybody focus on how fast or slow i am.:grumpy:

I also raced in a series SCSS 1-2 weeks ago and had little or no competition. Wes was there too, he can confirm.

Interesting thread. I'm with mykem thinking that fastest people are GT Academy contenders, and like CSLACR think normally scattered here and there. I'm new with WRS and also hope to find a good challenge there.

@Sic. I hope you aren't Marco, but every way how are you compared to my times in the board (look in signature)?

What is your level?

Join my League (WSGTC) ;)

I dare you to beat some of the top guys. There's about 40 drivers in the roster at the moment :sly:

p.s. WRS is a pure hotlap competition, so if you're looking for real multiplayer challenge, check the racing series section and try out some of the leagues/series'

Two things:

1. No leaderboards.
2. Private lobbies.

With no leaderboards to speak of (except for the seasonal events), there's really no competition or incentive for people to show what they can do. And i that sense, it's kind of stifled competition. I think during the GT Academy sessions, it was pretty clear, very quickly, who the fast guys were and there were a lot of them.

And with the introduction of private rooms in GT5, well, I know a lot of people who just don't bother to race in public lobbies anymore, where as with Prologue, this wasn't an option. And it should be obvious why. If not, see here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=157418

You may in fact be very quick, but I'm sure if you register for the next GTP event, you'll have some competition. See here. You'll first have to run the qualifyer, if you haven't already done so. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=117

You do have a point though about the unrealistic slip stream, not to mention unrealistic levels of tire wear, among other things, which kind of kill the competition in this game. For the last month or two, I've been playing mostly PC based sims instead. You don't have to be the fastest guy out there to understand that GT does have some rather frustrating flaws. But I'm pretty sure you'll find some competition in the registry. There are plenty of fast guys out there. Good luck.

First of all let me say that I've been deeply involved with the larger GTP online racing community since September of last year. I'll let you know what's up.

interesting guy...

Drama hangs with the best and can most definitely give you a good run for you hypothetical money.

That series doesn't have too many people that would give you a real challenge. Pick again or ask around in. PM me if you want.

WSGTC isn't for pure speed but, more so, it'll be an ultimate test of your racing prowess and strategy. We use racing hard tires, all the cars are perfectly balanced and we run heavy damage at nothing but real world tracks along with weather (when it's available) 2 hour long enduros, an 11 round race schedule, no assists, live sole qualifiers with the entire lap being scrutinized by an official steward at all times and did I say heavy damage?

There's plenty of heavy weights here in the GTP scene. Guys you want to add are, to name a few (and that I guaruntee you won't beat), The_Outlaw/ GTP_timeattack or Tony1311. Other people that will definitely show you the light is people like R1600Turbo, GTP_potatochip, reventon, Remy_K and EL_ZISSOU / APPALACHIAN_CHRIS.

I'd bet money on any of those guys against pretty much anyone. Again, not for pure speed but because of their speed combined with racing talent.

^^^ what he said.

I've seen Tony, Remy, and Timeattack in action in league races before and those fellas are pretty alien like.

You seem really fast in your splits, would be nice to see you race in our series 👍
