Went to an art exhibition yesterday, I really liked this stuff but I dont know what kind of art it is or where it was influenced from. Any ideas? There was no info or anything about it by the work!:irked:
Id like to find some more works similar to this, I love it!

Hm...

You might call it Geometric Abstraction, I guess. That's the closest thing I could find.

It's mishmash scissor-work posing as post-tribal abstract expressionism.

The second one is decent, though... I'd hang it. The other two just seem too overtly "pop-art" to have any depth to them.

EDIT: changed my mind... the bottom half of number two is just plain lazy workmanship... :grumpy:
 
It's funny what people can consider "art"... it's even funnier that people buy the crap they make somethings. Yeah, lets just crack some glass, here's art!

I think the problem most of the time is the ambiguity a lot of art holds. Sometimes yeah it's subjective and it's what you take from it, or what you see in it but a lot of the times I find myself in your position; asking what the hell is this? But after I've learned the intentions of the artist and what they're trying to do/represent then it all makes sense.
 
Yeah, but I've also heard some of those "intention" from other artist and it's as bad as a retarded pick up line. The buyer goes for it too...
 
It's no worse than some of the garbage musicians sell and people listen to.
