Hey GTplanet, im a new member here. Ive been playing GT3 for about only 2 or 3 months, so im pretty new there too. im only 56% complete. So i got a long way to go...
I looked in the video section of this website and saw the videos people made. What kinda equipment or software or whatever do i need to make a video? i was hoping maybe when i got better at the game, i can make a video too or something but i dont know that much about that kinda stuff. So if any of u guys can post something and let me know wut are the basic procedure of making a video, that would be really helpful. :) :) :)

Thanks...

I think you need a program called "Sharkport" that connects your PS2 to your computer, but wait for someone else to answer your question before you make any mistakes, as im only taking a wild guess :D

you will need an video card with video in capability, then you will need some software for making it. im not 2 sure on what you would use since i havent really done any editing.

u need a sharkport or x-port and mks program for hybriding but to get more useful info chekout da hybrid forums dat shuld give ya alot of info:)

Jesus Christ, what is it with people answering questions they don't ACTUALLY know?

To make a video of your runs you need:
(as zer0h says) A video card for your computer which has a Video-In - commonly referred to as ViVo (Video-In, Video-Out card). A good, well-performing but cheap ViVo card is the ATi Radeon 9200 at about £75. I have one on order.

You plug the PS2 video output into the video card's video input.

Then you need video-capture software. I'm not sure what the most commonly used ones are, but I'll send daan a shout and he may answer. He created the GT Genome Project, in which you can see our mental hybrids.

You DO NOT NEED an X-port or Sharkport for making videos, but I suggest you get one, as they are useful for backing up memory cards to the PC Hard Drive. Meaning you won't ever accidentally wipe a game or buy another memory card again. Cheaper than a mem card as well...

I don't think a shark port will help at all, since it wont let you see replays on your computer it will only allow you to transfer files from your memory car to your hard drive, and this has nothing to do with Hybrids it's about making a video. What you need is a video capture card or device. Do a search to get more info; a lot of people have asked this question before.

Edit: ha, you beat me to it Famine.

All you need is a TV card for your PC or a video card with a TV/Line in. Mine's a Hauppauge WinTV PVR. The PS2 connects to them in the same way it connects to your TV. You programme the WinTV software to pick up the signal from the PS2 and the software can also make a movie of what the WinTV software is displaying. (start a replay on the PS2, start the WinTV recording, stop it when the replay stops).

Thanks guys...i currently run a GeForce 3 Ti500 in my computer and i dont think it has that Vivo capability but it does have a
s-video plug in the back that i have no clue wut it does, does that do anything?

That should work just fine you just need an s-video plug instead of the 3 plugs for your ps2, and i think it will work.

That's more than likely a video out which will allow you to display your PC's video images onto another output device which isn't a monitor. So it's probably of no use whatsoever.

So all you need is a TV card, or a Graphics card with a video in function. These will both come with software to record tv (or PS2) to your hard disk. You then need editing software (such as vegas video or adobe premiere) if you want to make a nice fancy video out of multiple clips, flashy effects and a sountrack.

Gah, I forgot I took all my video links out of my sig.
I made a whole bunch of GTC videos and other stuff and I seem to have the same card as daan, a Happauge WinTV PVR card.
