It was cheaper at only $42 AUD. So far im happy with it but with the PS3 can you play in game noise (shooting music) etc with the headphones?

I have this:

It works great, but it works better when you can find the charge cradle :irked: I'm pretty sure a direct connection won't charge it. It was pretty expensive but it cam e with a free SOCOM.

I have the 12 quid plastic one works like a treat and its wired. No need to go buy big brands ive had mine for over year hasnt stopped working once and ahs been bashed around alot.

I have the same one that came with SOCOM. I do believe you can charge the headset if you still have the usb cable. It should plug right into the top end of the device, not at the tip where it slides into the cradle. Unfortunately i barely get to use that great mic. I am too impatient for the load/wait times for SOCOM. If i had some PSN friends to play with i wouldn't mind the wait, but playing alone i dont have the patience, and thats the only online game i have at the moment. I have MGS4, but i don't play that online and GT5p doesn't have Chat. :)👍

I'm trying to understand the question. If you have the headset, can't you check to see if all the in-game sounds are sent to that headset, or just the chat?

As far as BT headsets, you can only output chat to the headset... but that's why I prefer it, as it makes it VERY easy to hear the voice chat over the in-game sounds and music when the chat is being sent separately and directly to your ear rather than over the same sound system/TV as the in-game sounds. This also allows you to adjust the chat volume level without effecting the in-game sounds.

I have that as well and as vr6wantsr20det said, you can charge it without the cradle. There is a flap on the top which uses the same type 2 connector... so you can also use any USB cable with the same type 2 connector... like the one that came with the headset as well as the PS3 to charge the controllers. 👍

I've used other BT headsets as well, but that one seems to be the best performing. I'd use it with my phone except I prefer smaller BT headsets for mobile use.

I have this.

Gioteck EX 01 Headset

I bought it for about $80 AUD (I know thats quite a ripoff) but the good thing is you have more gameplay time with it and less charging, which explains why it's so expensive.

USB audio support is only for chat. I tested with my Logitech Premium 350. The PS3 will not let me output non-chat audio to USB audio device; only digital audio, Multi-AV, and HDMI are supported.

Unfortunately, the $670AUD console doesnt not support this feature:ouch:. Where were the brains when they thought not having headphone support would be a good idea.

I have this, I don't have Socom I bought it second hand off amazon. Great buy for £20 twice as much as the first one I bought (madcatz was simply awful) about 5 times better though. Since I seldom play cod4 these days I haven't had much to use it. IW will make a return for cod6 so I expect it to pay for itself then. Who knows maybe GT5:P will support the headset, if not GT5.

I've got the same one as Stevisiov and Ceiling_Fan, got the Socom included, which I havent touched in forever, the headset was well worth it though.

Do you have a receiver or does your TV have a headphone jack? If so, problem solved. If not, you can always buy a cheap external audio processor with a headphone jack. I've seen used ones on eBay sell for well under $50.

The audio on this setup comes from the tv unfortunately. Anyway, its not that big of a deal.

Bought this one today as my clearchat comfort broke yesterday :ouch:.

Turtle Beach PX21 for 100AUD.

I have the same headset as ceiling_fan as well, paid around 70AUD for it although I don't really use it that often.

I have the Logitech headset that was used with the NFL Head Coach game for the PS3. I'm pleasantly surprised it works fine with the PC as well since it has a USB connector. :)

I have a Giotech EX-01 (£18), great for CoD, Fifa and games like that, however, I don't want to keep adjusting it when it slips on GT5.

On Fifa, still got possesion of the ball. On Black Ops or CoD, camp for a second.

On GT5, spin out, don't shift at the right time and its over.

So Im looking to get a Logitech F540 headset
