I need some help, maybe somebody can clear this up for me.

A few years back a friend and I were raced out from grinding GT4 and turned over to the TV. We just caught the start of a movie and rolled a joint to have while watching. FUNNY GAMES U.S.

Have you seen this retarded movie??? I makes no sense. Messed up serial killers that a one point in the movie can rewind time. Can anyone explain why this movie exists/was made/what is its point?
 
It's a remake of an older film. The director of the original film said it was pointless and that his only other reason for it was about violence in the media. I have never seen the remake, but in the original, it had an interesting detail in that Paul always knew he was in a movie, and that the family's experience was related to how he viewed the typical movie development being played out. This where his ability to break the fourth wall came in.
The very end when he & his brother debate fiction vs. reality is part of this.

The movie itself has also been noted as one of the more disturbing movies.
 
It makes no sense? You clearly haven't seen any of the Donald G. Jacksons "Zen" movies. Roller Blade Seven anyone? There was no script used...
 
I didn't know there was an original, I'll have to check that out and see if it's as bizarre as the newer one.
