I'm probably gonna get a logitech driving force gt for christmas, I have some racing games however would like to get others, that would be good realistic racing games.
I have
GT prologue
Grid
Need For Speed
Collin Mcrae Dirt
among others

However those are the game sort I like.

Any idea's appreciated.

thanks

Grid, NFS & Dirt are not what I would call "good realistic racing games", but much more arcade oriented. If you like more realistic games, I would recommend F1CE & Super Car Challenge.

If you are about to buy your first wheel you don't need more games, because GT5P alone is a completely different experience with a wheel.

However, apart from GT5P, the "good realistic racing games" for the PS3 that I know of are just 3:

F1:Championship Edition
Ferrari Challenge
Supercar Challenge

Then you have another two more "debatable" ones:

Need For Speed: Shift
V8 Superstars

Thanks for your help

I'm probably gonna get supercar challenge when i can afford it. Its 37 pounds from game so i will wait a bit untill its cheaper.

Or if you're in a hurry, Ferrari Challenge must be cheaper by now. As above though, GT5P will suddenly be like a whole new game with a wheel you won't need to worry much for a while.

If you have an older PS3 that will play PS2 games you should get GT4 also if you can find NASCAR games for the PS3 buy them (only if they are used and dont cost much).

Ferrari Challenge is a great game that can be quite unforgiving to mistakes.

im also a huge fan of realistic driving games and with that said, dirt 2 is still a really good fun driving game. not realistic but fun with a great online multiplayer set up.

If you want a NASCAR game get 09, it's buggy but way less buggy than 08.

i only played the demo, but i agree, not so realistic, but with a Wheel i had a LOT of fun 4-wheel drifting those courses. But as stated GT5p with a wheel is a whole new ballgame. Start the races over and enjoy the newfound challenge. I just can't wait for full GT5, we all need more cars and tracks!!!! And i can't wait to see the final physics engine. A fun game, but in no means Realistic it's a Japanese game (most menu in english) is Wangan Midnight, it's a better graphic version of Tokyo Extreme racer, but with the wheel it's a lot of fun too. (if you enjoyed any of the tokyo extreme racer franchise games.

NFS shift, i had it, and traded it in. I found it not very realistic and had a very disconnected feeling to the car/road. And this is with a G25. :indiff:

Or you could go to ASDA and get it for £15.:sly:

Most definitely:

Ferrari Challenge if you aiming to Platinum trophies, this would be the most valuable off them all i did one in Wipeout HD, but this is in Ferrari is still the most hardest to get :)

Supercar Challenge much more improved version of Ferrari Challenge, gives so much fun from playing, absolutely love it this game.

Need For Speed Shift very fun and not challenging game

Superstars V8 Racing stay away from this cra.p, not worthed 1$

And now there is a Demo of GT5 so no doubt, which game should we play.

Eh. I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of the codemasters series of games (TOCA series, GRiD, DiRT). Yeah, they're not SIM games, but loads of fun. Online play is good for the most part. It's nice to get into a group who meets online to race regularly instead of just going up against random jokers who like to mess around, drive the wrong way round, and ram you just because. No time for that nonsense.

From another thread dealing with the lack of restart option...
...
Most serious sim racing titles don't feature restart options, forcing the player to maintain as much concentration as they can. Many people, myself included, believe that restart options on sims defeat much of the point of it being a sim. Get a corner wrong and simply restart is an easy way to advance by trial and error (and the rewind function on GRiD being the very worst example of this idea), rather than learning the hard way from your mistakes.

It doesn't suit everyone and not everyone will like the idea, but that's part of the reason why it is missing (and I would not want to see it). ... consider Richard Burns Rally, that had an even more realistic physics engine and very realistic damage, you could drive in P1 for 5 miles down a stage, clip a curb 100m from the finish and end up with an un-drivable car. P1 to DNF within sight of the finish gate, now that was cruel, but boy did it make you focus. Regards, Scaff

I see the point in this, but with the GT series, well, GT4 in particular, I took issue with no restart in the Rally races when the AI taps you from behind, and you end up with the penalty which can cost you the race. Man, talk about making me hot. With GRiD, it's forgiving of your mistakes as it gives you a few chances to rewind, but you only get a few of those per race. I especially like the change from day to night during the 24 hours (24 min) Le Mans race. And Scaff, I feel you man... one race I was leading the entire time, got over zealous, and on the last lap, cut the last corner to tight, spun out and went into the sand, and the guard rail. Last place... Ho-hum.
