Okay then it was the last lap of an online race (5 laps) at Spa, I had got ahead of "Fred" on the previous lap on the straight before Le Combe. On the next lap I backed off so not to get any penalties and knowing that to beat me, he'd have to send up the inside at the bus stop as I was putting my car in place where he couldn't overtake. However into the chicane after the double left hander, I broke early to get a good exit and he drove through me (due to ghosting) therefore gaining an advantage... He didn't conceed the place. I think he should have, do you people?

I consider that the he gained an advantage by not driving past me, he didn't overtake nor crash into me due to ghosting, but just driving through my car - he wouldn't be able to do that in the real world.

Pro tip. Penalties are awful! :)
Which is why I make sure only to race with people who don't cheat. Thus elimination any need for the awful penalty system. Yes, in my opinion, he should've have given you the position back.

I wasn't in control of room, I prefer racing in lounge's anyway...

Thank you for your comments

It's ettiquette to not even do that in the first place.
It's not clean racing to lean on someone else's car, so yeah, he should've given you the spot.
It's online racing though, it's the risk you run.

You already know the answer to your question. As someone else stated penalties are crap.

I thought I was right but it felt like maybe I was in the wrong... I would have prefer to been taken out as it would have been bad for both of us... I don't like the penalty system for many reasons... nevermind

Unfortunately the other driver likely knew he would "ghost" thru you and used this to his advantage. In general if I get into a room that allows SRF or has penalties on I will leave as it makes the game pretty unrealistic and people WILL exploit that.

I prefer to race in lounges with people I know to avoid things like this.

I haven't had an issue with these guys before... I normally race with the members of CRAP though and never had an issue about that those guys

I've heard they are generally pretty good guys to race with.

We are a good bunch of people - we know how to race even if we aren't the fastest...

Sounds like someone needs to go over racing etiquette with the offending driver. Otherwise it will probably continue to happen.

It wasn't a CRAP driver, it was another driver... I might try to explain it...
