what should I work on first

I have a G27 wheel and I need some advice.
I'm a good enough driver to win in A spec events and get some golds in the special events but by no means am I as clean as a GTP Event would require.
So since I have the option to go full manual with clutch and an H pattern shifter.

My question is what should I do first work on better driving technique or work on running the car in manual.
I could also use some advice for braking and down shifting more than one gear.
 
I would say manual would MAKE you a better driver, so two birds, one stone. Like practicing ballet with weights (sorry to get all Vonnegut). You take off the weights if you need to and suddenly it's all a lot easier. Then eventually you're so good you don't even notice the weights.
