Yeah, that's a nice car. I sold it too quickly. It should handle the Amateur FR, perhaps with Turbo 1 as somebody suggested. I believe I used my Trueno with extra added power.
One thing I will stress,
Lieutenant, is to forget about Sports tires and the other Sports-level modifications. T2 Super Slicks, at 10,500 cr are worth more than twice as much in terms of grip and race-winning ability. The semi-race suspension is OK but does not offer the adjustability that the full-race does.
So, in short, here's what I'd do when building cars:
- T2 tires before anything else
- Race suspension next, after you have the money
- Race transmission -or- more power
Consider the race transmission before you jump right to adding more power. On some cars you can just feel that the transmission isn't geared right; either too tall for good acceleration or it hits the redline too early. The race transmission offers 6 gears plus you can adjust them to meet the track and power level you are working with. Often times being able to use the power you have
better means you don't need to add power.
The Mustang R is a fun drive, but only if you're comfortable sliding it around a bit. I've only run it stock (Polyphony Digital Cup) but it could be coaxed to go pretty quickly.
You have a good assortment of cars at the moment. I'd save money for a while, buy Super Slicks for the ones you like, and don't buy any more cars. You'll be winning a garage full anyway, and prize cars come at full power rather than bought cars which need to be run in for a hundred miles or so.
Speaking of which, if you don't know it already,
change the oil before driving any new car. That adds 5% to your horsepower at a cost of only 250 cr.
And again, welcome to GTP!
[edit] Two more things -
1) Sell the spare Vitz for some extra cash; you won't need two.
2) Keep one of the Miatas stock - probably the LS - buy it T2 tires, change the oil, and run the Roadster Enduro. It's a very fun drive, takes a little over an hour, and you'll win by a mile because the Super Slicks mean you'll only have to pit twice. That gets you 100,000 credits and a chance at some reasonable cars.
