no intentions of insulting your inteligence but here it is
Barney style
capture deivce: usualy a pci card for your pc ( a big white solt on your motherboard), it will have ports on the back for video IN or if the card rocks, a S-VIDEO IN. the "concept" should be no more dificult than recording off the ps2 with a vcr.
becareful to shut off the pc before putting it in.
another method is to purchase a external capture USB device, (expensive 100bucks +)its about the size of a cig pack. simply hook your AV cables form ps2 to it, the device will write to your Hard drive a straight file using your usb processor, vice the chipset on a seperate card. (i recomend the card)
the software provided should be flexible enough to embark a variety of options, what dimensions of video, format of media (pal, ntsc J, ntsc uc<<us games) audio recording, bit rate, ect.
movies: a recording off the PS2 will be saved as a movie file (duh) 3 words >> windows movie maker>>free download >>>microsoftupdate.com unless you have an extra $1800 for adobe premiere (whos **** dont stink, and neither will your videos if you got it!)
recomended card "MSI TV@nywhere" supports svideo in and out as well as analog and stereo sound in/out.
about 50-60 bucks.
now capturing isnt limited to game replays (note the avatar)^^^ it can take screen shots of high scores, combos and so on.
