As a big F1 fan and frequent F1 2010 player, i'm obviously excited about F1 2011 coming out in September. However, I own a G25 that has one small issue - the left button on the wheel is no longer functional.

Given that F1 2011 will feature both KERS and the DRS, this would make it extremely awkward to use these features effectively with only one button at my finger tips.

What to do?

1. I would possibly consider shelling out for a G27, although i'm slightly loathe to do that because my G25 is in perfect nick other than this issue.

2. If I was confident that the DFGT was of a suitable standard (FFB) then I would possibly buy that given its affordability, but i've never used this wheel and I really don't want to take a step backwards from the G25. And also another downside is not having the separate gear shifter for GT5 (I really don't want to have to use my right hand to change gear)

3. If I could fix my G25 then i'd obviously go down that route, but I wouldn't feel confident at all about attempting this as i'd be completely out of my depth (DIY imbecile). The wheel is over 2 years old so the warranty has expired.

Any thoughts on what to do? :indiff:

A switch is a switch Shaggy.

I'm not very hands on myself but if you end up replacing it, you would have nothing to lose trying.

I'm sure you tube and clever people on here would gladly advise.

Good luck mate.

Edit the DFGT is a good FF wheel, it's the peddles you probably wouldn't like.

The DFGT has very good FFB. the paddle shifters are not really paddles though, just buttons, although it shouldn't be too hard to transplant the G25 paddles to the DFGT, it's been done before.
I also believe the G25 pedals can be used with a DFGT with a bit of rewiring & a cheap joystick assigned to player 1 can be used as a shifter.
But personally I'd have a look at repairing your button first, could be a simple fix.

Or you could forget about KERS. Didn't do Red-Bull any harm ;-)
