Like the title says, what vintage cars do you like the most? Write a short text about it and tell why it is your favorite vintage car. Pictures would be nice too.

My favorite i think is the Chevy Corvette Cabroilet witch is custom tuned when you buy it. and the reason is that it looks good and handles good. It also has an amazing engine sound :)

So, what are your favorite/favorites? :)

I have strong feelings about al japanese cars from pre-'90, I don't know if the qualify for "vintage".

Shelby GT350 - because it's great to drive, not common in 60's muscle cars.
It has a great engine and handles pretty good. I also love the design / color scheme.

The Countach LP400 is also a great machine, as is the Toyota 2000 GT.

The Mercedes-benz 300 SL Coupe '54 is one that comes to mind early.
I enjoyed racing it at Nurburgring when the Vintage Supercar event was still going on in seasonals(550pp?) It was quite capable of beating that front running Muira if you kept your wits about you.
It has a nice interior style too.

I'd say my favorite sounding classic is the Ford Mark IV , I love the way u can hear the valves chatter and that throaty backfire from the exhaust! It's sweet with about 800watts of surround sound!!! But as far as driving goes definitely have to go with the Shelby GT350. I have one numerous online 550pp (ish) races with it against modern cars!

Alpine A110S

Quirky French car from Deippe. You have to fold yourself up to be a passenger.

Car is so noisey and reeks of petrol. But it goes well handles like a dream. Only has a four pot little engine with no fuel injection nonsence. Nice sleek looks and avante garde style. Above all, it has character - and that goes along way.

The Stratos is equally as good but has sad memories for me.

For me its between the

XJ13 Race Car Chrome Line looks so sweet the detail on the engine is awesome if only this car had made it past the testing stages and raced in a competition.

Art Morrison Corvette 60 im just in awe of the looks this car has.

Alpha Romeo GIULIA TZ2 Carrozzata da Zagato wow it looks every bit as good as its long name and handles how i like a car.

The standard Dodge Charger R/T in Matt Black, the only reason being how good it looks and the sound of the V8. It handles like the suspension are made out of a sack of potatoes.

The Jaguar XJ13.

Sure, it doesnt sound the best, but it, I dont know, just feels more special than any other Vintage Car. The Ford Mark IV by far and a way is the best sounding - but sound doesnt mean everything. The XJ13 posesses a soul, a British thoroughbred that was born to race and is filled with passion that the Jaguar mechanics put their own heart and soul into. But it never got to fullfill its destiny. And so remains forever, just an old relic.

Because of this, I love this car. The way it drives, the way it handles, the way it accelerates, even its sound. But what I love most about this car is how it makes me feel. I have 2 of these, one stock, and one with Max Downforce, Max BHP, and in Gold Chrome. Love this thing to bits 👍

Streetcars:
1969 Camaro Z28 - high revving 302 (5.0) motor is nice. Balanced car.
1970 Challenger R/T - 426 Hemi with classic musclecar design, and true musclecar sound

Race Cars:
1967 Mark IV - the 427 at idle is intoxicating , second best sounding car in the game (787B is First)
1966 XJ13 - This is my favorite car in the game, I have eight :)

The above are my opinions.

The Shelby GT350R will always get my blood pumping, I love small-block American V8s built to rev. The GT40 and C2 Corvette racecars also fall into that category (the '69 Gulf GT40 used a 302 motor).

I'm really going against the flow, but the '67 Mercury Cougar is also a favorite. The FE big block is known for the 427 and 428, but the 390 was a respectable engine in its own right.

Lancia Stratos, it's got a Ferrari V6 in a rally car. Do I need another reason?

And of course, the quintessential Lotus Elan! If you've driven it, then you understand. If you haven't, no words of mine will ever be able to describe it for you.

You won't see them raced or even talked about very often, but I have a thing for the classic Alfa Romeo street cars in the game. The Speciale has amazing aerodynamics, the Spider is just gorgeous, and the Sprint GTA is just plain awesome, not to mention the shared 1.6L is a work of genius.

Many of the cars mentioned here go fast and are fun, some are even quite stylish. I don't know why, but so many people who play this game seem to give little regard to the Giulia-based cars and really they are missing some of the best cars ever made! The '65 Alfa Giulia Sprint GTA is a real hoot to drive and outside of a 300SL or E-Type you're going to be hard-pressed to find a car in this game that just LOOKS SO GOOD driving on a mountain road!

Hands down-Ford MKIV. In what other car do you have to change your shorts every time you accelerate?
Although, the Chappy 2D is a sweetheart as well.

Sorry for the drunk double post, but I agree with the elder Alfas and Elan. Actually shopping for both IRL. Albeit not to race (yet?).

Sorry, I couldn't let that pass without comment. AHEM.

I'm drooling over those pictures! I don't think many of the people that play this game realize how technologically advanced those little cars were for their time and price tag, however I won't go into too much detail as I'm currently working on an article for this forum that involves these cars and what made them great.

And believe me, I'm an Alfa fan, I bought every single car in the OCD the day it got updated!:sly: I have 4 Sprint GTAs, 3 Speciales, and 2 Spiders, as well as 2 or more of every other standard and premium Alfa (minus the TZ2).

Ford GT MKIV.

It sounds amazing, it's fast and the sensation you get when driving it with no aids is immense. The movement of the car under braking, the surge of power as that 427 hits the power band, the slight oversteer out of tight corners .I could lap this thing around Le Mans all day- flying down Hunaudieres straight at 213mph in this car is unbeatable. :)

I just have the one and it's completely stock (apart from trans tune) and it's going to stay that way.

I can only say that vintage cars are my favorite cars in GT5.
I'm rather slow and not competitive at high speed.

On the other hand, I adore the lack of grip you have with comfort tyres.

Some favorites:

- Alpine A110
- The older Alfa's
- The Stratos
- The older street Toyotas
- Honda S800
- Mercedes 300
- Jag E Type

-1969 Chevrolet Camaro
-1965 Shelby GT350R
-1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
-1966 Shelby Cobra 427
- 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo
- Nissan Fairlady 240Z
- Jaguar E Type
- Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R

'63 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2)
'66 Volkswagen 1200
'67 Toyota 2000GT
'70 Toyota Celica 1600GT (TA22)
'70 Nissan Skyline HT 2000 GT-R (KPGC10) + '73 (KPGC110)
'73 BMW 2002 Turbo
'74 Jensen Interceptor Mk. III
'78 Nissan Fairlady Z 280Z-L 2seater (S130)

That's about it.

Lamborghini Miura, Datsun 2000 Fairlady and Z Cars and my Stingray Convertible in matte black. It makes me think of the suits worn by mafia members in old gangster movies.

For drifting, I really enjoy the Toyota 2000GT (though it is a pleasure to drive as well on better than comfort tires). It is a very well balanced car, with a good amount of power to initiate drift, but it is smooth enough that even without tuning it can be held well with mostly throttle input.

For general racing, though, I have a fondness for the early 70s cars of all kinds, but the 70 and 73 skyline are really great fun on almost any course when used bone stock.
