I know all entrants would love the chance of getting to the finals and winning the competition. However I'm just interested in the personal goals that people set for this years Academy, and if you achieved those goals.

---------

Last year I came 127th in the UK and just outside the top 1000 in the world. Since joining the WRS, I feel like I have improved a lot. So at the start of this Academy I set myself the goal of finishing in the top 50 UK, top 500 in the world.

Currently with 1 day remaining I am achieving those results. However, I have changed my expectations slightly, I am now aiming for top 30 UK and top 400 world, with a time below 2'18.0

I feel like I have the speed in me to do a 2'17.6, which at the moment would put me pretty much right on the cut-off for the national finals, so I'm pushing extra hard.

Bring on this last day!

My initial goal was to get sub 2:20.xxx, which I achieved rather quick. The competition on my friends list helped a lot. Now my current goal is to break into the 18's. I definitely have it in me, I just keep screwing up one of the sectors and need to get a lap together.

did a 2:19.1xx off both a 1:39.2xx and a 1:38.688 with 4 tenths left in a bad vale entry. My current best is a 2:19.06 so my goal is still within reach.

Edited in:
Finally reached my goal: 2:18.937!

My goal is to reach the regional final (Scandinavia).
And I'm currently .1 short of the cutoff which at the moment is a 2:17.5.
I expect that number to be 2:17.4 once the deadline is reached, which means I want to polish my 2:17.6 to a 2:17.4..

So we'll see.. But I'm close, that's for sure.

EDIT:
Update: Cutoff ended up at a 2:17.427, and I was'nt able to run faster than a 2:17.658..
So it was a fail..

After just finding out about GTAcademy 2 weeks into July I borrowed my brother's ps3 and downloaded the demo. I improved from an initial 2.34.xxx to a 2.25.xxx. Unfortunately 2.25.xxx was the fastest I could muster and obviously did not make it into the top 31 in the US. That being said, I am happy with myself as I got acclimated fairly quickly and was able to cut somewhat decent lap times with just a ps3 DS3 controller. I'm going to buy the G27 soon and hope to get even faster and shoot for the top 31 next year. All in all I'm happy with being 83928th in the world and 8430th in the US considering I'm a Forza transplant and had to get used to the GT physics engine too

I beat my generic goal of finishing better than last year. However I did not beat my ultimate goal of top 100 USA & top 1000 Global. Finished 113 USA & 1041 global.

So close, yet so far away. Maybe next year. :)

Finished better this year than last, so that goal was met. 👍 I was 1199 in the US region last year and I think 118xx globally. This year, assuming mygranturismo.net is accurate (since I haven't looked at the final times), I finished 474 in the US. Not sure where that is globally but I'm sure it's better than last year.

I started out at a 2'23.9xx on my first full, valid lap this year. After getting loads of mid 21s I wanted to push past the 20s. Didn't quite make it there as I ended at 2'20.065, but that's close enough that I feel good about it. :)

If there's a 2014 I hope I can improve to be in the US top 100.

My original goal was to make the regional top 32, since I managed 61st last year. I eventually managed a 2:17.000 about two weeks in, which put me 12th at the time. Naturally, I was starting to think that I could actually make the top 16 and qualify. However, improving any further was becoming extremely difficult.

I eventually decided to go to London to take part in a live event, and I actually managed to qualify for national finals that way. Because I had already qualified, I pretty much gave up on the online qualifier and I ended up 23rd, so I still managed my original goal.

I reckon that if I had put in enough effort in the final week, I could have shaved off another tenth or two and barely made the cut-off.

My goal was to qualify after barely missing last year and having to withdraw myself the year before that. Goal achieved 👍

New goal, make it to Silverstone

My goal was a 16.9xx due to my limited time due to work and stuff, and made a 16.8xx :D! So very pleased 👍. Managed my time amazingly well throughout this years Academy, helped a ton to! (Work/Gym/GT Academy/Training/RL Stuff)

This is the first ever Time trial I have participated in, my goals were low.

Goal: just to drive hard and do my best, I thought I would be good for top 250 in my regionals.
Halfway through the month I wanted to achieve a 2:17.750

Ended with a 2:17.698, 34th in the region, and after taking out the ineligibles, It places me in the mid 20s, which means I should qualify for the national finals. :)

I was hoping for a top 1000 finish in the US since I didn't get much time to do the event. Finished roughly 940 in the US, and am in the top 300 for the GT3 event, so I am pretty happy with it. Congrats to everyone who moved on!

My goal was to set a 2:17 laptime. I thought that would be enough for regional finals, but on the last day everyone pushed and ended up with 2:17:3xx. I am fourth and was really happy with that! Didnt think i would even come close to the top 6.
