What Wheel should I choose?

T500RS is a pretty easy choice, if you're ready to drop $500+ on a wheel. The Logitech G27 is supported and very good as well for about $200. The Logitech Driving Force GT is also a solid choice for about $100. Happy driving!

Well, as Gunstar states there's the three main wheels; The T500 RS, the G27 and the DFGT. There's also Fanatec, but since I know nothing about those, I'll keep them away for now.

Having only owned a DFGT and a T500, I can easily say, of those two, that the T500 is the best for GT5 - yet it's not in particular any cheap. At ~$500, you actually only get a wheel with flappy paddles, and an unusable clutch, until you get the TH8 shifter (which is another $100-$250-ish). Here, the G27 is the winner, because it comes with a shifter, but if that's not a problem, and if you can/will pay ~$500 for the T500, it's a very good choice. The DFGT is, what I consider, a good starter-wheel, as it has all the "basics" needed, and is a good choice if you're in doubt about spending more than ~$100. :)

I have owned the DFGT and now I own the G27. The DFGT is a good wheel for the price. The G27 also is a good wheel for the price. I could imagine that you find 250 euros much money for a game toy. The G27 has better build quality, metal hellical gearing insinde in stead of plastic normal gearing. It is made out of alluminium and real leather and it comes with nice pedal shifters and a proper H-shifter. The DFGT has plastic shift buttons and a sequential cheap feeling shifter. The advance of a DFGT is that it has in game car adjustment and a proper horn :D .
You are also able to program the ingame adjustment on the G27 though.
They are both great wheels actually, the G27 is only better without question. Both great gear for the bucks.
You will be able to get a second hand DFGT for around 40 euros and a G27 for around 150 euros. If I were you I would buy them new though. They can get broken and logitech has a 3 year warranty.

Now the question is which wheel(s) will have PlayStation 4 support? You don't want to spend your hard earned cash on a wheel strictly for PlayStation 3 when 4 is right around the corner.

As far as I know, the T500 is (the only wheel?) confirmed to work with the PS4.

I'm not that concerned about PS4 at the moment. I'll worry about getting a wheel for a PS4 if and when I get one.

Go get a G27... it is great... Yes, the clutch movement in GT5 is not great, but it is still a lot of fun... I got mine as a first wheel about 2 months ago and I really enjoy it... + there are plenty of mods available... :D

It all depends on your budget, how much storage space you have, and what you're going to clamp the wheel onto. Ideally, you should have a wheelstand of some type, especially if it's a larger wheel like the T500 which delivers a lot of FFB torque.

makes me wonder if the clutch in GT6 will get any better

I live in hope. I hope that CSS-SQ I have on back order arrives before GT6 and I hope that GT6 has proper clutch support. My goal is to use clutch and shifter for all normal car driving in GT6 but that will only really happen if GT6 reasonably simulates an actual clutch and shifter.

definitely. I only use my th8rs if I'm taking a car out for a joyride.. if I'm doing an actual race where time is important I definitely use paddles

Low price - Logitech DFGT
Mid price - Logitech G27, Fanatec GT3RS/GT2/CSR
High price - Thrustmaster T500, Fanatec CSW

If belt drive is of value to you, the GT3RS is the cheapest option. A package including the Clubsport or Elite pedals would be a great choice.

Have you tried, or are you able to try out someone else's wheel? It might help to work out what your most valued features will be, and how much you'd be prepared to spend.

I think I heard sowewhere, that they won't change much... As always (:sly:) don't get your hopes too high...
Honestly my hopes aren't too high until GT7 on the next gen consoles. I'm looking at GT6 like a GT5.5 really haha
