What will eventually happen to Seasonal Events?

Just wondering what will eventually happen once the servers go down in the future? Surely it would have made more sense for PD to add them as DLC, incorporate them into the game. Once the servers die, that will be it. Will it then be back to grinding in the American Chamiponship......??
 
Personally, I do the Seasonals for the helmets and the track suits. ;-)

Interesting question, though; I'm curious to see how long they keep the servers up and running. As GT5 is only a couple of years old, I can't see them pulling the plug on it any time soon.
 
Would only happen if no one play or if GT6 is out
 
I'm hoping they don't shut the servers down until GT6 comes out, that way the people that still play GT5 actually have something fun to do until the new game arrives. I think it would seem silly to shut them down anytime prior, the offline races are crap and give crap money. :(
 
Ah, the good old questions that nobody here could possibly know the answer to.
 
Hmm, depends if they assign new servers to every sequel? Doubt it, as I doubt all the CoD sequels have their own server? What I mean is if GT6 is coming out I don't see the servers turned off anytime soon.
 
It couldn't take much time or resources to maintain. The whole keeping track of time trial results could be dropped, the races could be sent out as patch update or one or two staff adding new ones on a schedule. PD and Sony may expect most to move to GT6, so similar to GT5 Prologue which was only cut loose last Sep, give it a few more years as a courtesy to users.
 
What pisses me off about the Seasonal Events is that the races are not so much races as they are "challenges" to try and win by getting past cars and not making mistakes within a limited time period since the leading cars start off with such a ridiculous time gap.
Take Eifel Circuit on the World Compact Car Championship- you start nearly a minute behind the lead car and whatever the PP, car setup, etc I just can't get within less than about 5 seconds of the lead car by the end of the 5th lap.
