Hey All,

Ok, heres the thing.......I am sitting here thinking what to do about GT4, do I

1) Import a Japanese PS2 and GT4

2) Wait for the UK release.

The reason I am thinking this is because SCEE STILL have not given a concrete release date for GT4 in the UK, and there seem to be 3 schools of though, its coming 25th Feb, its coming Mid-April, its coming in July.

What would you do?, get a Japanese version now, or wait, potentially, till July?, or end-Feb at the VERY earlist, the money side of it is not an issue BTW ;)

I remember years ago getting a Japanese version of GT1, cost me £70 :crazy: .

I would also vote to wait. Perhaps, get a US version, if it comes much before UK. Japanese/chinese version is not good, unless you speak japanese/chinese.

I will also wait for european release date.
 
I'd at least wait until there is a confirmed UK release date from Sony/PD. If however, we have not heard from Sony/PD by the 25th Feb, then I'd order your Japanese PS2 and GT4.

I mported jpn version, dont regret it at all, sure, a lot is in japenese, but really the gist fo the game is easily do able :) I'm prob getting UK version too, but i'm away for a month in march, so importing, for now at least, makes more sense for me :)
 
I modded my PS2 and ordered the Chn version... I'm not waiting any [censored] more, and I don't care that I have to buy it twice.... Thanks Sony and PD....

And making us buying it AGAIN when GT4 Online comes alive... HATEFEST indeed !
 
Cheers for the replies guys, think most of you are right, wait for a "real" date, what ever that means :), from SCEE and then take it from there, my missus woudl prefer not to have a 2nd PS2 in the lounge JUST for GT4 ;)

I'm still eager to play GT4, yet I don't actually feel that excited about GT4 anymore. Which is sort of odd :irked: I'll be waiting for the PAL release hoping garage mode & more Euro cars are added. Although I probably won't turn down the opportunity to play the Japanese version beforehand if offered.
 
The only thing I own a PS2 for is playing Gran Turismo, so buying a second one is just not an option for me. However, I am interested in modding my PS2 to support Chinese/ Japanese. What does it cost to modify a PS2. Any information will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
Resident Evil 4 will Tide me over until It comes out in the US, Im very excited to play RE4 (one of my top 3 favorite series); So if anyone has a Gamecube should Pick one up, its going to be nothing short of amazing

I thought that that was already sorted out and that 25th Feb was the release date for Europe... but, you'll never know for sure until it is in your hands :crazy:
 
I bought a Japanese PS2 for this game. I think it will be well worth it :)

Im also planning on getting Kaido Battle 2 and Naruto, which makes the purchase easier for me.
 
I'm waiting for the UK release on pre-order, it'll be cheaper than Japanese PS2/Modifications and you'll be able to read it. Go play all its predecessors, that's what I'm doing.
 
Dude, I would wait. I have just bought the Japanese version and a Swap Magic Disc and slide tool as I have a PAL PS2. However I have just found out that the swap magic does not support GT4 as it has a double layered DVD. So I have just shelled out 100 quid for something I can't us!! :'( (£35 Game, £15 shipping, £30 Swapmagic and tool)
To say I am gutted is an understatement. Roll on the Uk release. Anyone wanna buy an unused Japanese GT4?? :D
 
I have a modded PAL PS2 and I dont regret importing GT4 and I will be buying the PAL release to play the take the full potential of the game, Tuning etc

Amen, I'm Currently on GT3 Since it'll help me out at the beginning of 4, I forgot how easy it is to be sucked in :)
 
I just said screw it and bought a Japanese slimline ps2 and GT4. Hell,
I can play my concept versions now too!

I was set on waiting for the UK version yesterday, but a few hours playing GT3, made me want to get GT4 even more!!!!!.

I have come to the conclusion that if SCEE move the date from 25.02.05, then I am definatly getting the Japanese version :)
