Last year it seemed like Apex VGear was among one of the favorite wheel stand designs thanks to its muliple adjustments and stability:

and here's 2 pictures of the new stand.

I hope folks realize this is a guy working out of his garage shop who is a racing enthusiast crazy enough to come out with a solid racing stand that folds flat (8 inches high), fully adjustable, in a good price range.

I'm not posting the website or contact info out of respect. If folks are interested, this is easy enough to find.

However, they stopped taking orders several months ago with just the following notice back on February 4th:

Online Orders Temporarily Suspended
As We Prepare to Make a Major Announcement

February 4, 2011

EXCITING things are happening at ApexVGear, and we're working hard to complete
new developments and ready ourselves to make a MAJOR announcement in the next few days.

We want console and PC-Sim Racers to have the best experience,
and everything we're doing right now will ensure we can offer a solution to make that possible.

If you're shopping for a steering wheel stand and will be making a decision in the
near future, and would like to be notified when we make our announcement,
please go to our Contact Us page and send a message.

Please note that we have received hundreds of inquiries since we suspended sales of our units in October – so many that we just can't sit down and respond to them... we've been very busy. Many have requested specific information about the stand, and we appreciate your interest.
All of your questions will be answered soon.

The wait is almost over.

Considering it's been nearly five months, I would have expected some update since then. Does anyone know what may have happened or what the current status is in regards to future production?

I too am interested in that is going on with them. Their stand would fit my needs perfectly. I sent a note thru the contact us section on their page, but havent heard back yet.

I guess not. I'm considering getting rid of my current setup in favor of this, since it is more storage and room friendly. I wonder how the stability is compared to others.

That stand looks way to busy.

I'd gladly accept a "busy" design for the stability and adjust-ability that this design has. Of course, you could always cover the hardware with some kind of shell if it bothers you that much. Trouble is, getting one of these in the first place. :odd:
