The rally race feels alot more realistic, you need to prepare for each crner alot more than in GT3's rally mode.
Other improvments are a much wider variety in the tests, not just do this section of track in this time, you have tasks like cone gates and overtake someone without hitting them now.
more cars than any other GT game, that means 600+, GT2 had around 600 in it.
More tracks, PD say 100, expect around 50 with forward and reverse variations though.
Improved graphics, while the cars look almost the same as in GTC the scenery is improved as are the spectators, although they are still flat pixelated cut outs, they move now, and when your going past at 100Mph who cares if they don't look as detatiled as Lara Croft in AoD.
The improved physics, mentioned already, I'd just like to emphasise that it does improve the game, if your used to playing GT3 don't worry that it will feel completely different, it won't.
More upgrades, there is sadi to be around twice as many parts to upgrade and tweak inGT4 than in GT3.
Body kits, GT4 marks the return of body kits, KY has left a hole here by not specifying what he means, it could be aero parts you add to the car yourself or it could be the return of the race mod like in GT1 and 2 which is most likely.
The sound, one of the bigger criticisms of GT3 were the engine noises on some cars, GT4's sound alot better, louder, clearer and on a whole more effective.
Online play, how much you can do online isn't known yet, expect races between 2 - 6 players, forums for discussion on all things GT and KY has said he's interested in online trading, there is a possibilty of downloadable extras but thats not likely.
The new wheel, it's meant to be so good with GT4 it's a reason to buy the game on it's own.
If I remeber anything else I'll let you know.
